The 32RH does not have a transmission temperature sender so its temperature is not available unless you install your own sender in the pan or in the coolant lines.
Your 97 can display its own codes...
https://www.allpar.com/fix/codes/index.html which basically says to quick-turn your ignition switch on-off-on three times within five seconds and then leave it in the on position to let the diagnostics run. Once complete any stored diagnostic trouble codes will begin displaying in the odometer display. At a minimum, if you did the key-sequence correctly, it will always at least show the '55' code which says no more codes follow.
