Well I got the M8000s the other day and yesterday got my Northstar AGM battery so that meant it was time to get off my ass and get to work.
The winch went in fairly easy. The raised winch plate helped with that.
What turned into a job was installing the battery. I pulled out the old battery and, damn, the tray’s all rusty. Can’t leave it like that, so out it comes. And that broke the body clip nuts, so then it was off to the auto parts store.
Lucky me, they had them. They’re M8’s for reference. Then it was a quick stop at the hardware store for rust oleum black and silver spray paint.
The cleanup and paint job took the rest of the day, and I finished the install the next day.
I like how it came out. The battery wasn’t a marine style, but was a dual post and wound up working just fine. But like everything on a Jeep, there wasn’t a lot of space to work!
That funny looking thing on the top of the battery is a dryer sheet, it keeps the mice away.
I spooled the synthetic rope this afternoon just before it started snowing, so I’m stoked!
Just like Hosejockey61, I got the M8000s for $893 shipped. And the Northstar AGM for $322 shipped, so not too bad.
And hey Zorba, I got a Warn sticker I’m not going to use and your welcome to it for your restoration project. PM me with where to send it.

Radiator cap was leaking. Replaced. Thought it was gunna be the radiator. $200 turned into $4.39.
Vacuum leaks in cracked hose and boot. Easy peasy!
Replacing brake pads. May replace rotors. Greased up all joints. Need new shocks and bump stops.
judging from the ridge around the outer edge, there appears to be considerable wear on the rotor in that last pic. I'd suggest replacing that one, at least; and the other side if it is similarly worn.
I figured since I was in there I should go ahead and replace both.
There also appears to have been a Police Officer recently bleeding on your floor...better get that cleaned up

Just realized I am really shit at applying Decals especially after a few beers Seemed like a real good idea to me at the time once the sun and heat went away and my first application was almost perfect! only problem was it was upside-down lol what Fu#&ing a Dickhead! lol

I put on some neoprene “Diver Down” seat covers from Quadra Tech made out of wet suit material (before & after pics) &. New spare tire cover. Both of these little details are a nice change.
Boog - how did you get that selfie onto the cover?
The wife took it for me and I emailed it to CustomTireCovers. This is a better pic of me.
