Picking up where I left off

I realized I never posted photos of my PRP seats I ordered. Still waiting on them to be done, but here's what they'll look like:

I went with the Summit because I didn't see the need for a reclining seat. I never recline my factory seats, I'll have a harness bar behind me, and I don't daily drive it. The kids also climb in through the back window, so there's that too. I also wanted the extra support that the Summit provided over the Enduro.

Color matched bumpers would make those seats pop !

More hold-ups with the PSC install.

I've tried just about everything to get the pitman arm off the steering box, but it won't budge.

Blaine let me know I should be using one of these:

How I didn't know about such a tool is beyond me, because I can tell just by looking at it how well it works.

I have tried using gear pullers but they eventually pop off since they can't get a good enough grip on the arm.

Unfortunately it won't be here until Thursday, so I'll have to wait on removing the steering gearbox until then. For now though I have removed the power steering pump and will be removing my lower steering shaft tonight and replacing it with the 97-02 steering shaft which is much shorter than the 03-06 shaft to accommodate this new PSC steering box.

I can then put the hoses together and get everything ready for Thursday when I can finally put the new gearbox in.

Having pulled pitman arms before, some successful, some not, I just ordered this to save the headache. I'm glad I did!

x2, mine was frozen on the damn box and I broke puller arm teeth trying to pull it. Soak it in PB? Nope. Heat the piss out of it then pull? Nope nope nope. I said screw it and ordered a new pitman arm...no regrets(except that I also busted up my puller arms lol).

I stripped the threads on one of my gear pullers in the process today.
Been there done that. Like I said, when I did the PSC conversion I just bought a new OEM pitman arm. The good news is I didn't have to use bad language once during the install. If I would have tried to remove the stock pitman arm, little children would not be allowed to be near by!

Thinking about it now, I think ordering a new pitman arm might actually just be a better idea in general.

Not unless you find an OEM one.

I found an OEM one nearby in Yuma, AZ that I just ordered. We'll see what gets here first, the tool or the pitman arm. Either way, I'll keep the tool anyways as it seems like something useful to have around.

If not needed, it can always be returned!
