Is the Yuma deal better than the Amazon deal?Having pulled pitman arms before, some successful, some not, I just ordered this to save the headache. I'm glad I did!

For the pitman arm mine was also a bitch to remove. I broke the first puller but then learned a trick for the second.
What I did was tightened the puller, hit the bolt (on the puller) with a hammer a few times, drank a beer, tightened again, and repeated until it came free.
Think the wait time is what did it. Before I just kept tightening and broke the tool.Same price, just closer.
I tried this minus the beer, still no luck unfortunately.

And no beer required?I've always used a standard puller and have "helped" it along the way with the 2-hammer trick...
After soaking in PB, I tighten up the puller some, then give the exposed part of the pitman a few good whacks with a mechanic's hammer, all while supporting the opposite side of the pitman arm with generous pressure from a pressed against hammer of equal or greater weight. I tighten up the puller some more, then whack again in the same manner. Rinse and repeat until it's removed.
In 25 years of wrenching, including at my old man's shop, I've never NOT been able to get a pitman off this way, including spending over a decade in the Rust Belt!

Beer optional, though I lean towards whiskey/bourbon and usually only after the work is completedAnd no beer required?

fixed it for you. don't count your eggsAmazon comes through! Looks like my conical pitman arm puller will be here tomorrow, and the Mopar pitman arm shipped today from Arizona. So either way, I'll have somethingdonestarted shortly.
It would have been done by now if I wasn’t helping Blaine put together the instructions for the kitfixed it for you. don't count your eggs![]()
So does that mean those with 97-02 models do not need to modify anything? Asking for a friend. When adding the PSC hydro-assist setup to the 03-06 models, you either have to modify your factory steering shaft as Blaine has mentioned, or you need to get a steering shaft from a 97-02 model.
You can see the difference below:

The 97-02 shaft is pictures on top and the 03-06 below. You can see how much shorter the 97-02 steering shaft is, but otherwise they are mostly the same.
I'm not sure how you modify your 03-06 shaft, but Blaine told me that they just use 97-02 shafts to make the job easier. For the price, I think it's a no brainer. Also, it doesn't hurt to have a new steering shaft anyways.
