That’s probably what I’ll do then. I just don’t want to have to remove the whole cage to get the dash out, that would be a nightmare.

Well I would ask how often do you remove the WHOLE dash?
I can still get to my speakers & stuff like that. The issue would be taking the whole dash out would be a MAJOR PITA.
You’re right! I have never removed the dash on any of my TJs. However, with my luck it will be the one time I need to do the heater core and the whole dash needs to come off. Have you had that happen to you?

I've never had to pull my whole dash. As a matter fact I'd never really thought about it until I had seen @motomick76 build pictures and really like how clean his wiring is so I thought I'd pull my dash until I'd gone and looked at mine and that blew that idea.
Sounds like you’re optimizing for a problem which doesn’t really exist @Chris. From what i’ve heard the heater core is a huge PITA anyway, so what’s adding a bit more of a PITA to it? 
I intend to run in by him before I jump into anything. He’s already given me good advice in regards to the harness bar.
If you use the bent angle down legs that bolt to the dash where it is mounted on both sides with the 3 large button head Torx, you take a heater core job from 3.5 hours to about 30 hours. I just did one, the owner was not pleased even though we had many discussions about why to NOT trap the dash.
This is what I want to install into my TJ for a harness bar with the HD clamps. May or may not be the correct option but I I like that I can move it and remove it.

Do you see an option for a 2 1/2" clamp? If not, do you have the stock B pillar?
So you would drill holes through the top of the dash and feed the tubes down behind?
The stock sport bar is enough in most cases. However, I have a few things going on. For one I am going for the fastback look, which is purely cosmetic. For two, there will already be tubing installed for the harness bar and other provisions. I figure that while I am doing that I may as well just replace the entire thing.
Taking the dash out on these are easy. There is really not much to it. Couple hours and everything is out. I took it out to make adding in the accessory wiring easier, and worth taking out and in.
