aren’t you using your sssye and your longer drive shaft?
Yeah, but I'm probably going to damage the seal in the JB outer housing when I remove the housing and break into the case. If I don't, well, then I have another seal. I just don't want the Jeep to be down for a couple weeks waiting on a seal. I already called O'Reilly's and they were like, call Tom Wood.

I’d be mostly guessing but yes that should be it.

Wasn't the terra low kit just a new back half? The front should be oem.

Front, as in toward the front of the Jeep. But the Back half of the case and driveshaft @DrDmoney sent is not the right length for my setup. So, I’m moving my SS SYE and back TCase over to his front TCase, which has the goods. So, I’ll likely destroy the oil seal on the SYE housing in the process of moving things over.

Thats makes more sense. Good luck.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts once you get it on the trail.

I've never dealt with the SS SYE so I don't know. I know on a regular SYE I could pull the back apart without damaging anything.

@Alex01 the black part is what I’ll connect to the back of my TCase, with my SYE and Adams driveshaft. 😊

That beautiful silver thing, well, you know what that is!

Yeah, I pulled his apart with a regular SYE without damaging anything, but the SS has a seal where the shat enters the housing. I’ll try to carefully remove the RTV there and get it out, but I may damage it.

Yep, that's my jeep's twin. Notice we are only 3 builds apart. ;)

It wasn’t a cheap mod back then, they were just popular because it was the only option plus you still had to factor in the cv drive shaft and SYE if you were lifting it 4.5”
Oh i didnt know that, do you happen to know how much they go for/went for?

IIRC it was around $900 to $1000 for just the Tera-Low kit

I think it was more like $1200-1400 for a new one.

I already had a SYE on my TJ when I did the TeraLow. I also did the 2LO kit when I installed the 4:1 kit.

wow thats insane. And they stopped production because they kept grenading in the high rpms right?

Yes you had to keep your RPM's below 3K for extended periods of time. And of course people didn't pay attention to this.
