Got rid of the huge/heavy aftermarket bumper for a stubby stock replacement. Also, finally took the hard top off for the year, looking forward to some decent weather!
I probably could and I thought about it but the LJ has a black interior and the tj is spice. So on top of exterior paint I’d have to do the inside too, figure it isn’t worth it.Can you repaint & keep the half doors?
I'm not sure, they came with the LJ when I bought it! There aren't any marking or part numbers either but they do plug into the factory fog light harnesses. That's what I went with, just need a winch now. What lights are those on your bumper?

I was gonna keep them and slap on some junk yj half doors I have laying around for the insurance. But I figure it’s easier and cheaper to just buy some second hand than redoing the red ones.
I am on the hunt for some half doors as I like em more and the lj came with a soft top too.
The lj came with another set of stock Jeep wheels on worn out tires so I will give them those and keep my American racing wheels.
Where do you have your inverter located?Finished the ham radio install/GMRS relocation today. Was able to attach a laptop computer to put prelim channels into it. Since said laptop has a dead battery, the Jeep's inverter supplied the power!
SWR readings on the ham rig are in the toilet on both VHF as well as UHF, 1.1 or less. The bad news is that I need to beef up the DC wiring a bit - I knew tying onto the GMRS wiring wasn't the greatest idea, tests confirm it. Getting about 1.5v drop on TX. That and I get to figure out what to do with the mics, but the project is usable at least.
Under the steering column, tye-wrapped to the HVAC duct. Its just a little 300 watter that's about the same age as the Jeep or a tad older. I inherited it from my father.Where do you have your inverter located?
I've been thinking of putting one in but not a fan of one under the seat. I don't expect the inverter to enjoy a drink while offroading.
Pics?Today I started to install an ARB twin compressor and 15 gallon air tank with S-pod 6 bank switch and air regulator,
By my calculations you could hold another 50 gallons no problem. I had 26 40 pound pellet bags piled in the back of mine, only a slight squat.Hauled 100 gallons of water to our cistern at the house.
50 gallon tank in the back of the TJ.
The drought makes you do crazy things with your Jeep!
your welcomeChanged the POs old heavy bumper out for the OEM one that he gave me when I bought it. Always meant to do it but that bumper thread finally got me thinking about weight.
