TJ won't start after sitting for a long time

Cant figure out how to post pictures.. found my CPS today.. wires chewed off flush with housing... missed finding the other end because the plug was hidden behind other wires... new one be here in morning!! Really hope this is it!! Will keep informed

Yeah, you won't have spark without the crank sensor.

Good morning forum !! ITS ALIVE!! Crankshaft position sensor replaced and it started on first revolution!! Many thanks for all suggestions and info.. now to find the oddball bolts that hold skid plate.. and replace the jigsaw puzzle of a dash !! Removed dash to clean and splice wires..it will be a hair puller !!

Lil update... dash went back together better than expected!! Very few ‘leftover’ screws!! Drove ten or so miles.. did great! Washed er . Cleaning more... then skim decides to kick in !! So here i am again .. oh.. all fluid levels are dead on.. maiden voyage went EXCELLENT...skim kicked in once back at shop..

Glad it's back running. Can be soooo frustrating when a tiny well hidden wire goes undetected time after time. Now, don't let her sit so long anymore!

Goatman I apologize if i was unclear... it ran fine with no leaks , squeaks or wobbles... till SKIM kicked in an kill it... now we back in shop , dead..

IIRC, there's a work around for the SKIM setup, I just don't know it, because I don't have one thank god!

But I'm sure some smart person will post with the answer!

Looks like my best option is Mr ‘wranglerfix’ in florida... just delete the dang thing before it strands us out somewhere.... would think that some one could easily bypass 20 yr old technology by now...lil jeep is cleaning up nicely... still havnt tackled removing seat covers to launder.. my just go with spray on upholstery cleaner for now.. have a great day !

Tackle the upholstery removal. It’s relatively easy. Unless you have powerful suction on a vacuum to pull out the crud, it will just stay there and get pushed further through to the foam. I’m not a fan of just covering them up either with ill fitting seat covers, the funk will still be under them.

Another lil update... my pcm is on its way to Florida for spring break... have faith in WRANGLERFIX getting it tuned up for me.. in mean time i’ll keep cleaning!! Have a great week

After a week of cleaning,,, lil jeep is looking SO much better,,kid mechanic, i did tackle seat cover removal,,, not the challenge i was expecting,,, not easy, but very do able
