Hello everyone! My husband recently purchased a 2001 Jeep Wrangler for $7000. He was able to talk the guy down a bit. He recently did a few small mods. He put a new brush guard, winch, and light guards on. He was super excited with his new toy. He recently dropped it off to have it inspected and the mechanic gave him some bad news. He said there is frame rust that isn't fixable. Is that even possible? I have been doing research and from what I have been reading frames were repairable even after some mechanics said they were not fixable. Needless to say he is extremely bummed out and worried he has wasted money. I found a place in Winchester, VA that does frame work and when we pick up the jeep from getting inspected we will find out more about where the rust is so when I call the place in Winchester I can find out if they can repair it. What has been your experience with frame rust? Is his jeep doomed? It runs like a dream and looks new. I attached a photo of it before he did the few mods. Sorry I don't have more details right now. We just found this out and are really stressing right now. I personally have a 1997 Jeep wrangler (my avatar photo) and the same mechanic did work on mine and never said anything about rust so hopefully mine is fine. The mechanic is not a jeep expert but a general mechanic that does work on work vehicles and vans. Any info and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
