OBA tank vs no tank: How long does it take to fill your tires?

Once the tank reaches the same PSI as the tire you're now filling both the tank and the tire with the same amount of air from the compressor. I would think that would slow times down, not speed them up

Edit: there's some good math there, cfm from the pump vs tank and tire volume. I might have to go all excel on this

I figured it would take a much larger tank than 2 gallons to impact the amount of time it takes me to fill my 4 35” tires from 8psi to 22. I chose to not bother with the hassle. If I could find a location for a larger tank it may be worth while.
Can always get one of these. I think they claim almost 9 cfm at 40 psi.

Without the pump involved, how long does it take for a 2 gallon tank at 120psi to reach equilibrium with a 35x12.5x15 tire at 8psi? And what is the resulting equilibrium pressure?

I don't know beyond my sense that it takes a few seconds and the resulting pressure isn't much above 8psi.

Yes, you are correct!!!!!! That is why you need a tank, it will rise (PSI) as you stop filling one and go to the other. Unless your OBA is paltry and is struggling at 12psi, sorry if that is the case. Do a "go fund me" thing, I here it works for projects like this.

Ok. How long does it take to move from tire to tire? How much will this tank fill as you move from tire to tire? How big of a tank to get to a 4 minute decrease in the amount of time squatting? 2 gallons?

If your compressor is getting into the 12-30 psi range (equilibrium) during a fill with a tank, then ya, it makes no difference except the first part of your fill which is from stored air and the easiest to push.

For an outa shape 53yo? Bout a minute. So, ya there is at least 3mins. What is your spry time between tires.
 
Also, if it is faster; is the time saved worth the wear/heat of running the compressor continuously vs. letting it shut off between tires?

About a minute to shuffle 5-6 feet to the next tire. That's a data point.

We know it takes about a minute to shuffle 5-6 feet over to the next tire. I know it takes a York a few seconds to fill a 2 gallon tank. That leaves about 55 seconds of cool down time for the pump between tires... 😂
