No aluminum Savvy bumpers in near future

Their claimed use of 6061 aluminum for their front bumper.

I don't see that anywhere, maybe they already updated? I see they claim it's 1/4" aluminum alloy. My Jeep is in the shop right now, so I can't go measure the thickness. Again, I'm not trying to ague, I have no stock in Genright, I was just impressed with the customer service and the parts seemed quality to me.

This is what I pulled, from the site from the bumper I bought from them. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong area? Specs is blank.

I'm a little late to this party, but I have a UCF Ultra High Clearance aluminum bumper, and I will give an unbiased no-bullshit review of what it is and what it isn't.

First off, I have and like Savvy stuff. I run their rock sliders, gas tank skid, transfer case shift cable, body lift, and taillights. All form, fit, function and finish are top notch.

In addition to my UCF bumper, I also have a UCF aluminum Extra Clearance transfer case skid and engine skid. They look and perform very well also.

So, I have no brand bias, I buy what I like, based on research, and realistically acknowledging where and how hard I wheel.

Here's what I have:

It is 6061 T6 and it has the proper bend radii. I am an aircraft structural repair inspector by occupation. I have the tools and ability to properly measure radius and test for proper hardness. The welded corners lose some strength just like other aluminum bumpers. This is a stubby bumper so there are no provisions for any kind of "Hardcore" upgrade to the welded corners. It is what it is.

The bumper itself weighs 9.4 lbs.
Add the winch fairlead, weight is an even 12 lbs.
The deck of the bumper extends further back than stock. It uses the first 2 bolt holes and then uses the first bolt hole for the sway bar. My bumper only came with 2 holes on each side. I had to drill the 3rd. Not sure why that is, maybe UCF has corrected that on newer bumpers.

The bumper does not have the reinforcement bend on the bottom of the bumper below the crossmember. Apparantly Savvy is the only one doing that.
It has never been an issue for me, I have taken a few hits to the bottom of the bumper with no damage.

Neither bumper is cheap. The UCF bumper with fairlead and winch hoop sells for $846. ($761 after 10% off code, no tax, and free shipping)
The Savvy bumper with fairlead, winch hoop, and hardcore plates is $752. (Expect to pay some shipping and possibly sales tax)

The UCF bumper, IMO, is a very attractive piece. It's low profile, sleek and very lightweight.

The Savvy is better, no argument. However, it seems to be somewhat more difficult to obtain. I had no problem getting my other Savvy parts since they were in stock, but when it came time to get a bumper, there were none in sight, and without any projection date. Some people don't mind paying good money for something out of stock or backordered, and then waiting for an undetermined amount of time with little or no communication.... I don't do that.

I researched other aluminum bumpers and came across this UCF. This aluminum model was very new at the time, and I had not seen it on the forum or anywhere else. That intrigued me. I called UCF and talked with the owner who answered all my questions. UCF's great customer support and communication sealed the deal.

So bottom line, order a Savvy (if you can) and wait... it is the better bumper if you like big rocks and are banging your bumper around frequently.

If that doesn't sound appealing, the UCF is a very nice bumper. It is well built and will more than likely ship the day you order it, and it will be on your doorstep in 3-4 days.

So that's it. Sorry if longwinded or unnecessary. Just thought the discussion could benefit from someone who actually owns the bumper, and doesn't have "too much" confirmation bias.

So I've been on/off trying to buy a Savvy front bumper for like 2 years. They're always marked as sold out when I check, and I've probably filled out the 'email me when available' thing a dozen times.

...does anyone have any advice on how to actually catch one of these bumpers for sale?
