What did you do to your TJ today?

What about the Dagmars?

barf GIF

Not a fan of the rubber mini bumpers.
Still have them along with the milkjugs somewhere in storage.

Lotta holes on the face of that thing … what are they for? I guess license plate but what else would go there on an OEM bumper?

4 total large slots for left or right plate orientation im assuming
2 upper small center slots for center mounted plate.
4 holes for the rubber bumperettes or dagmars.
theres 6 remaining holes in the center I cant account for in the US but likely overseas plate mounting options for a center plate.

I rather like them, but I can understand some not caring for the look. The milkjugs I don't care for either, but my '06 didn't come with them.

They stick out like a sore thumb on the wrangler to me.

But other sports cars and classics with chrome bumpers and elegant chrome dagmars I think look very nice.

Going to Jeep invasion at silver lake this weekend?

Also lmk what license plate clips/ rubber front bump guards you get if you get them. I need to find some for my front bumper.

No plans to go to the invasion, didnt know about it going on.
I unintentionally ended up in the jeep the Mac crowd last year... by chance. No plans to end up where I was going that week in that crowd again.

No plans for rubber bumper guards & unsure as to what the part number is nor what its called for the license plate mounting plastic wedges. ive got 2 plate mounting wedges somewhere along with the 2 panhead screws that held the plate to the bumper when I acquired it out of state. MI has no front bumper plates so I took it off but toss the idea of a vanity plate time to time.

I went to Gv in Grand Rapids. SL Sand dunes are always a blast. My profile pic was my 4 banger manual on top of test hill last year LOL

Got the illustrious check gauges light. Had good pressure when cold and while driving, then once it got hot (she stays around 190-200) gauge would drop to zero when stopped (not every time, just randomly). Hooked manual gauge up to it and lowest I got was 8-9 psi after it got heated up and I simulated some driving RPMs. My understanding is 10 psi/1000 RPMs is normal so 8-9 at 800 rpm idle should be right. Hooked up some tygon tubing to the fitting for the pressure tester and blew about a quart through that line. Then cleaned the old sending unit with some pb blaster and let it dry out good. Put it back in and drove it around all afternoon and evening and seems to have fixed it. Gonna order another sending unit for when the problem comes back, can’t believe a mopar unit is >$70.
Am I wrong in thinking I’m good to go and it was just the sending unit? Should I be dropping the pan and looking at replacing the oil pump, lifter screen/tube, and/or bearings?

When Michigan brought back the Water Winter Wonderland plates, I jumped on this one. Would be cool to have a front plate of it as well.

Your intake filter box placement stumps me.
I feel like im looking at a YJ engine bay but yet feel like im looking at a TJ engine bay.

DYI cold air intake -xj sourced air box. - Moved the windshield washer bottle, shorten up the air intake. Been a few tweaks since this picture but this is the gist of it. Cross section of the factory air tube for reference -it’s now 3” to the throttle body.

Fixed a rust spot under my fender "tool holder" today. I should have done it 5 years ago. I ground it down all the way through the fender to the metal brace underneath. The insulation was missing on this fender at the brace. It ended up being about the size of a finger tip when I was done. Filled it with some stuff I had laying around. Hopefully it works. Sand and paint after it completely dries.

Is that traction tape on top of your fenders?

Or a kit?

I think mine needs that...

I went to Rapid City, SD over the holiday weekend with my brother. I didn't get much time offroading but there are lots of trails there. We found one mid level trail and a guy took his 2 door JK off road with us for the first time. My Jeep handled good in the hills and roads of the parks. I think I averaged around 15-16 mpg which surprised me.

As normal, most of my damage was onroad. A black truck got off I-90 a little in the 30-40 headwinds going there and tossed a big rock.

I got some drinks and a bottle of Whiskey from Full Throttle Saloon to ease the pain.

My speedometer and cruise stopped working 40 miles from home. I'll check the hall sensor on the SSSYE. The odometer stopped advancing too because no speed registers so I could have a permanent 85,000 miles if I want.

Overall, good trip.
