Jeep Wrangler TJ Full Electric Conversions

New summit goodies - rear view compass, temp, map light mirror

The real question is, what does it read in the cold when you have the defroster blowing hot air up the windshield.

Or blowing cold air when it's hot outside.

Never seen an IR temp mirror before.

Yeah, I know. But it's not really *that* old.

Anyone with this mirror having problems? Mine is always pointing south or mostly south. I cannot figure out how to reset and/or calibrate it.

Same, it doesn't cal like the OEM. It seems to be easily affected by pwr lines, etc. I've been meaning to check it out in an open area, but haven't yet.

The auto dim seems to work pretty well, but I couldn't find a way to turn it off like the OEM.
 
I concur. The auto dim is great but sometimes I want it off as well. I sent an email to summit.

Includes wiring kit + harness and tucks in out of sight. My 02 did not have the oem fancy mirror but I’ve this wired so I can turn the map lights on without keyed power and they will come on with the doors open.

Temp sense is IR and reads off the windshield.

I have the temp/compass mirror from The TJ Mirror Co. There is a compass calibration function that involves driving around in a circle multiple times. Once mine was set it has remained accurate. Does the Summit mirror not come with compass calibration instructions?

Ha! No. You can download an image. A single picture of the wiring hook-up.

It has 3 pushbuttons. One for right and left maplights. One for on/off. Period. I've tried six ways to Sunday to figure it out and got nowhere. I prefer the gentex (now) but wanted the maplights. I had one in my prior TJ.

But I just heard from Summit last night in an email and they are going to warranty it. No fuss. Kudos to them.

Thanks. Let us know how the new one works and ifthere are any improvements such as cal or being able to turn auto dim off.

If I confirm the compass is off, I'll be warrantying mine.
