What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed TRE safety thimble fairlead. Now my bumper doesn't look like a baby sucking on a pacifier and the thimble is up out of harm's way.

I do like that TRE fairlead. If I didn't have a Factor 55 ProLink already, I'd definitely order one of these.

I feel you lol. My daughter bought me a heater for Xmas. So I've been busy. I stay out of the salt as well so test drives are limited. Got my Savvy skid today. Itching to switch out my UCF for it but leaving for Florida Monday morning so it'll have to wait till I return. My RJ 60 too.

I only moved in in October and I’ve never had a un-heated garage. Mine will be heated next year. You’ll love that savvy stuff.

My Jeep uses a 1156 bulb for the backup light. If this is a 1157 base it wouldn’t fit.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the difference between 1156 and 1157 and what you will find is that the 1156 bulb is simply for a single action, which means it is used for a turn signal or an on/off light whereas the 1157 is a dual action bulb and can be used for two functions including brake lights as well as front signal indicators.

But the locking nubs are also different, you can’t put a 1157 bulb in a 1156 socket or vice versa

Most led bulbs come in both configurations ..1156 is your back up bulb , and doesn’t require a resistor either.

Today I replaced the final 23 year old u joints in my front driveshaft. It was surprising to see how viable the grease still was in the removed u joints and centering ball. Now I have piece of mind knowing there isn't a lurking dry joint waiting to give me problems.

I also fixed and annoying problem with my drivers door lock. Almost every time the door was closed it would lock on its own. Pulled the door panel and adjusted the lock rod between the interior door handle and the lock lever.

Body lift
Mml
Some fancy 35s

Needed to do the body lift before the mml, the trans would hit the tub. Have a barns bolt on skid already

For anyone doing a mml on 03+ just cut the mm bolt and replace. F you jeep with volkswagon problems:mad:

started making an attempt at replacing the oem rear brake hoses for my Dana 44 rear disc.
indeed the lines were oem which means 1 piece hard line fused to rubber line, i want all the rubber lines replaced at 150k & 16 years old.
ended up cutting and removing the original, bending a new line, flaring and went to install and found i cut the new hard line too short by about a inch. gave in and began bending a new line again then realized i dont want to have to fuss around with the other side with the same thing... ended up ordering a set of rear pre-bent lines online from a local manufacturer. eta is possibly thursday but i expect sooner as the shop is only about 1 1/2 hours away.

once i get my rear soft lines completed i should be complete with all the "its 16 years old and has 150k on it" aka do it before it fails repairs.

rear upper hose and front hoses were a breeze, these rear hoses are a bastard & i despise bending and flaring brake lines.. i can do it but im lazy and dont like fluid dripping from active lines while working on them.

otherwise i completed my serpentine pulley idler/tensioner replacement & cooling system refresh last weekend after all, weather cooperated. new water pump, thermostat, hoses and radiator. should order a new fan clutch and serp belt but they're still working and not difficult to get to.

GM under hood light. $30 w/ harness of Ebay. Very useful mod.

How did you wire it up? It seems like I read in a thread somewhere where someone wired one in but was having problems blowing fuses or something, but then figured out what it was. I don't remember what the details of it was though.

I have one on the shelf that I got at a salvage yard awhile back but haven't installed it yet.

If you zoom in at the first pic. You can see the blue wire tap in line with the OE red power wire to the stock light. I tapped into the red wire and bolted the ground on the hood bumper bolt you see on the hood itself.

No fuse or battery cable was removed other than the physical oe light. Easy mod.
