One side of blinkers not functioning

Driving my 98 TJ a day ago, the right blinkers stopped working. Left works fine, but when I indicate right, nada. No arrow in the dash, no lights on outside. Rear lights are LED and fronts are still traditional incandescent. Thoughts? Need a new blinker relay? New signal switch?

    Recharging AC

I was under the impression that it wasn’t possible to vacuum the system at home?

    Recharging AC

So when I went to replace the heater core, I had to drain the refrigerant to complete the job and get the air box out. I never recharged it since if it’s warm enough to need AC, I just drove with the top down. I’m going to sell my TJ now though, and would like to recharge the system to have it...

Massachusetts 98 TJ Wrangler Sahara, automatic, 128k miles

It is with great sadness that I offer for sale my 1998 TJ Wrangler Sahara, 4.0L I-6 engine, 32RH automatic, with 128k miles on the clock. Due to a change in life circumstances, I no longer have the time or space necessary to maintain it, so it must unfortunately go. I purchased this from the...

    Ease of replacing brake lines?

Good tips, thanks. Zip ties have become my go-to for things like this.

    Ease of replacing brake lines?

Already have line wrenches and a pump is on my list of things to pick up if I do this myself, but I'm still not sure how well it'll work with the ABS module. Hard lines, though given how rusted those are, it wouldn't surprise me if some other stuff needed to be replaced as well. I was reading...

    Ease of replacing brake lines?

So one of my brake lines exploded on my 98 TJ Sahara w/ ABS a few months ago. I ordered the replacement lines and they've been sitting in my basement since, waiting for some nice weather to give it a try. I enjoy getting to wrench myself, but I'm wondering if this is worth trying to do on my own...

Where to get replacement brake lines?

Appreciate it! Looked around and couldn't find lines for the ABS models but looks like they have it. How hard of a job is it to replace the actual lines? My understanding is that bleeding the ABS system on these cars is a massive headache, but my immediate concern right now is just replacing the...

Where to get replacement brake lines?

So, fun story. Went to take the TJ out this morning and got to the end of my road when I tried to brake. Stepped on the pedal and it went straight to the ground. Quickly threw it in neutral and yanked on the hand brake and manages to roll it back home. Popped open the hood and one of the brake...

    Third brake light options

Appreciate the replies guys. This may just be an MA thing but I stopped by a couple inspection places and was told before they even took my money that the circle brake light wouldn’t pass. The fitment under the spare issue is less important to me as I need new rims and tires anyways. I may try...

    Third brake light options

So when I got my TJ the third brake light was trashed. I took it off and replaced it with one of those round behind the wheel ones off Amazon for like $20. Well it’s state inspection time and I’m fairly certain it’s going to fail with that light on (not to mention it doesn’t really fit under the...

    Cheap spare tire bump stops?

I saw that and that was exactly my plan until I realized I didn’t have the stock bumpers. I just have a hard time shelling out $40 for a couple small pieces of rubber.

    Cheap spare tire bump stops?

So I went to go put a spare on the back of my TJ today and realized there aren’t any of the rubber bump stops on there. Figured I’d just go pick a couple up but they’re $10 each, and they aren’t even the correct length since I had to install a different carrier to fit my tires. Lots of tips for...

    Bosch 67655 fuel pump

It isn’t as easy to do as some guides make it out to be, and in the end, if anything else needs to be replaced, it becomes cost prohibitive. Got a Delphi unit and so far no issues at all. Fully expect to have to replace it again in a few years but that’s life.

Wipers stopped working - where to start?

I’ll give it a shot. Any idea what the fuse number is on a 98 for the wipers, and if that same fuse powers the spray pump as well (aka if the spray still works can it even be the fuse)?

Wipers stopped working - where to start?

As has become the norm for my shitbox (98 Sahara), went out today for a little spin and came back with a new problem: the wipers stopped working. The spray function is fine, but no matter what I do, the wipers will not wipe. Thoughts on what I can check (fuse, plugs, etc)? Thanks.

    Broke down with code P0171

Okay so I finally got around to replacing the O2 sensor and no change. The Jeep still starts up fine and then once it warms up, starts to sputter. Shutting it off and turning it back on, again, runs fine for a bit (30 seconds) and then starts sputtering again. Is there anything that would give...

    Bosch 67655 fuel pump

I found lots of websites that claimed to have the pump in stock, but few that actually did once you called them up. As far as I know, there are only a handful left available to even dealerships.

    Steering not returning to center

The alignment came back spot on, caster included. Made sure the print out listed correct values and that they didn’t just do the trick where they change the range to get it “into the green.” Is it possible I need more caster on this rig than what’s standard for this model?

    Steering not returning to center

So after replacing control arms, shocks, springs, tie rod, etc (basically everything suspension related) I had my TJ aligned by a 4x4 shop because things were pretty out of wack. They managed to sort out almost all of the issues except for one - the steering doesn’t return to center. When going...
