Hmm...that’s not much bump for that setup. I have 2” front and 2” rear right now with 3” + 1.25” and 33’s, and my front driver got into the flare a couple of months ago. I thought I checked at full bump, it looks like it barely touched, but it was enough to bend the seam. 🙄

What are you going to do to get more travel? Raised Coil spring mounts? Raised shock mounts?
Yeah, it took a lot of control arm adjusting. I think the best route for me (not a welder) / for the trails I run is keeping it simple, 4” Currie springs and a longer shocks. The OME rock sports have a pretty good travel/ compressed length for 2” lift that allowed me to reduce the front bump. Main issue was clearing the front rear fender wall, I think the axle is pushed forward about as much as I could to clear the track bar.

Honestly, it does just fine though for 80% I hit with the 35” MTRs, lockers, and TT so not changing it up for at least another season

Yep, it's that front rear fender wall that keeps getting in the way with your setup. Sounds like you've tuned it about as good as can be done. Nice work!

Midarm makes everything a lot easier to deal with since you have no rear track bar. My plans are the 4 inch Currie springs I have sitting in the closet along with the MidArm. Then 5.13's.

Some of you would have a heart attack if you saw the rear pinion angle I run. Luckily I somehow have no vibes until 85. Gotta keep the track bar outta the crossmember somehow.

What is your pinion angle?

I see a lot of crawler guys running massive amounts of pinion angle. Sometimes I think to myself, "how is that not starving for oil."

If I'm measuring correctly, my pinion is about 9 to 10 degrees lower than my driveshaft. Heart attack city for a lot of people. Correct me if I'm simply measuring incorrectly, because the extent of the difference even surprised me.

That’s nuts, ~10* lower pinion. You can tell too at the u-joint. But no vibes, so happy days!

It vibes at about 83 or so lightly. But I'm also running 4.56's and 35's. With 5.13's, it would vibe at 73. I wonder if I can get 5.13's, knock the pinion up 4 or 5 degrees and still get driveable highway speeds while keeping the trackbar out of the gas tank.

First thing I said when I picked it up from the frame swap was that the rear pinion was jacked. At one point I measured it but I just kinda forgot about it since it works. Should probably fix it anyways to be honest.

Are you compromising on wheel base? How much can you tilt the pinion up before your TB hits the gas tank skid?

I'm still thinking out loud about fenders. What's the point of going with a GR Aluminum that's not HiLine? I mean, it's $1300. Besides the work involved, why not just go with the HiLine? If I do HiLine, I can run 35's, but what else would I have to change. Am I going to want more uptravel? longer shocks? Modify the upper spring perches?
