I emailed Mark. He recommended I send him my PCM to have it tested. I know there are other problems with the PCM. I’m trying to decide if I should part it out or spend $1,000 on a PCM. I’m not sure a 2005 4 cylinder is worth the investment.

It has been starting on the second or third try lately. I don’t think the Wrangler is worth a $1000+ repair.
Many of these Wanglers are getting parted out. I am going to try and find a used PCM. Does anyone know if I need the exact year or if another year’s PCM with the same engine and transmission will be comparable?
So as long as it’s a 2005 or 2006 with a manual transmission and 2.4 l motor the PCMs should work for me?
Does it need to be the same model or have any other similar features?
Yes, same engine/trans should work. ATs have an additional connector on the PCM for the trans controller.
Only problem would be if one was equipped with the SKIM security key. I would assume not likely on a 4 cyl. It would have a gray SKIIM key if so equipped.
