4 Column Radiator Too Big?

When buying a replacement radiator for my 2000 TJ 4.0 5 speed I got overly enthusiastic and bought a four column unit.

In hindsight I'm thinking that'll cause issues by not letting the engine and oil heat properly on a stock I6 4.0 and the Jeep might be better off with a two column unit.

It's past the return window so I can't just trade it in.

I'll probably eat the cost but thought I'd first ask if anyone have experience with a four column radiator on a stock six cylinder TJ?

That's what the thermostat is for-- to regulate engine temperature. Don't worry about it, and enjoy your bottomless well of cooling capacity in Texas.

I would be inclined to run what I got. Note that fin count has an influence on cooling so depending on the construction the additional rows may/may not be that much of a factor. Up north we have this cardboard trick where we covered our oversized radiators in the winter so they we less effective….so there is always that option

Let us know how it works out. Generally speaking Denso radiators are recommended. Would be nice to know your experience with this one.
