99 TJ w/ 1" BL and UCF UHC skid with SSSYE and Savvy gas tank skid.

Previously installed SYE on stock coils due to drivetrain "lift" with tummy tuck. Now installing OME 2" lift with angled track bar bracket in rear.
I started by finding new ride height, setting pinion angle, bolting in shocks and checking interference/travel. Rear of coil pads needed trimming for shock body at droop. In addition, cross member was trimmed for TB as axle went into full stuff.

Biggest problem is I had the gas tank out while cutting and relocating coil pads and cycling suspension. The frame side fuel lines were floating inside the frame rail. Currie recommends a min 2.5" bump stop and coincidentally, at about 2.5" of BS gap, the bracket started to get into the fuel lines and relatively close to tub. Now after installing spacers and putting everything together, I am shocked at how little up travel I have. Can anyone give input or pictures to how they mitigated bracket interference at fuel lines? Maybe I need to pull coils back out and start cycling again....

Secondly, the front corner of the skid where i trimmed the crossmember will be a contact point. Is the JKS rear bar an issue? should I just trim that corner of the tank even though it is a slotted hole? Does a currie bar have a bend here to mitigate this issue?

Literally was just fighting this...

Check out my build thread...last couple pages... operation Phoenix.

Thanks for that. That is good info with the nylon fuel line. It looks like your solution for the TB was to just lower the frame side mount and possibly weld it more forward on the frame?

And tuck and push the fuel lines up and almost on top of the fuel rail.

I think I got the TB bracket pretty close to where it used to be. But I do know that it's where it needs to be to not crash into things.

You might just want to make a longer fuel line and try and straighten out the fuel line and push it up higher.

I can tell you severing the fuel line and wiring on the Rubicon Trail sucked.

Disregard TB sitting in front of bracket, had to move it out of the way to cycle axle up to bump. Pictures show 2.5" bump stops bottomed.

  • I have about 5/8-3/4" of clearance between tub and new bracket. I am going to shorten aluminum spacers 0.5" to 2" for more up travel.
  • Hard fuel lines actually look ok, but definitely close. The wire loom is what may actually catch and it doesn't seem to have much slack.
  • Trackbar clearance at gas tank mounting corner is an interference
  • Trackbar clearance at crossmember where TB has a hump is also an interference

@macleanflood 5/16 quick connects and nylon tubing, correct?

What does the clearance or trimming required look like on your passenger side of gas tank skid mounting?

5/16 nylon tube. 5/16" to hard line, 3/8 to fuel pump.

I didn't clearance the gas tank skid...but I did cut and weld an inch off the tank to push it up.

It does have a few convenient dents on the passenger side.

If I find a reasonably priced 2003-2006 skid I'll chop my rear frame and tuck it up.

Spoke with Blaine this morning. I am going to slice this currie bracket off the axle and go back to the stock mount, it is hurting me too much in up travel for a 2" lift. Adding a slight bend in TB rod end to aleviate bind at top of stock bracket at droop. Will update.

More better. 1.25" bump stop needed, parting old ones to length. 8.625" total travel. Whoever says these Spicer covers won't clear is a liar.

Dude that's awesome!
Gonna have to get one cause my "Ruff stuff specialties" cover hits.....Used to to hit since it "self clearanced itself" to the tank skid but I can hear a slight rub noise and it gets annoying
Only reason I didn't get it was beause "it hit" but this is great to know!
