They worked well when the cans were metal, but the cardboard ones would sometimes collapse.
Metal cans were before my time - I only remember the cardboard ones although maybe my dad had metal ones when I was really small.
I remember metal cans and you & I are about the same age. I have even used metal cans before.
I remember the metal cans (old stock though) and you're WAY older than me!!
