Anyone Running 33" Pizza Cutters?

so suspension lifts are the way to go? Forgive me gents, This is my third Jeep. Had two YJs before and keep them bone stock. In the monority here, but I love the stock look of the YJs. Actually really love the square headlamps. Stumbled across my current 04 TJ with 93k and scooped her up for 10k, all stock. had her for a year now and just dealing with Idle/stalling problems that just cost me about 1k. On a tight budget but Im delving into the modification field, but trying to keep the same, or at least, similar look of stock.could I ask the pros and cons of suspension and body lift? Im not very mechanical, but learning from alot of threads and from members on here and getting over my fear of screwing things up more, if im trying to DIY something. I dont 4 wheel much. Its a daily driver and alot of camping. Beach camping mostly at Pismo beach. Was thinking of a body lift for taller tires and asthetics. Thoughts?

Keep in mind that taller tires will have a negative effect on power and fuel milage without a costly gear change .
For an inexpensive 1 or 2 inch lift , I would install spring spacers . Keeping it mostly stock a 1 inch spacer lift and some all terrain tires close to stock would be preferable . Keep a good ride , maintain power and handling .

What tire is on your rig? Doesn’t look like the Open Country M/T

You are correct sir

I posted a pic of the MTs when I should have posted the ATs!

These tires are amazing in snow and on ice!! Can’t say enough about them!

Hardly had to put the Jeep in 4wd at all this winter, and we are having an old fashioned winter here this year!!

I ran a set of those Wildpeak at4w 255/85r16 for a little over a year, pretty good all around tire . I switched to the Cooper Stronghold , I believe the Stronghold is slightly more aggressive but does have more noise . I didn't like the handling of the heavier tire so I went back to a 235/85r16 .

I have the original Goodyear Kevlar MTR’s that have become very rough & loud due to their age. As an audio video contractor it’s been tuff to get the audio system to sound clean with the MTR’s and been lookin forward to an A/T tire!

The At4w tires were pretty quiet for an all terrain . I think one of quietest all terrain tires I've run and performed great was the Cooper at3 . I ran it for many years on my trucks and jeeps . The At4w also performed well both on and off road as well .

I run 33x10.5 Mickey Thompson Bajas on stock Ravines (15x8). I'm happy with them. I found that a lot of manufacturers don't make this size so the choice is somewhat limited. Needed 1.25" spacers up front because of rubbing at full lock, though. Even with that, they fit completely under my OEM fenders, which I really appreciate.

What size tires? Most people don't want a BL over 1.25".

@TheBoogieman @Harold&Cat Not sure what size to get. Looking for suggestions. Im on a strict budget. Thats why Im asking about which type of lift. 30-31-32 inch tires? I dont 4 wheel and its a daily driver. But want a bit of a “lifted” and “taller” tires look but not too much. any suggestions will be appreciated

Honestly a 1 inch spacer lift with a set of 30 x 9.5r15 all terrain would probably be a good combo . You could always add a small body lift if you wanted . The small suspension lift wouldn't require a lot of modifications . The 30 inch tires would not steal your power and fuel economy . This would be the most economical route .

Bigger tires and lift lead to more expensive mechanical upgrades such as gearing , driveshafts , adjustable control arms and track arms . It can get expensive real quick .

Something to remember is a 30 X 9.50 r15 was a stock size offered on TJ sports without ANY lift kit required . Our 04 Sport was equipped like this with 3.73 gears .

Yep , our 04 LJ came with 30 inch tires and 3.73 gears from the factory . Now it has 32 inch tires , a two inch lift and 4.88 gears . This combo works pretty good with the 42rle transmission .

I'd just go with 31" tires and a 1.25" Black Magic Brakes BL. No chance of driveline vibes with a BL and it's easier to do.

M/T Baja ATZ's - 33x12.5 R15 - 3.75 " backspace, 19mm offset. The tread wear is exceptional. Love the aggressive look, smooth and manageable on the highway.

Sadly, M/T doesn't make these anymore — my next tires will likely be M/T Baja Boss, maybe the Baja Legend.

FWIW, I recommend going with the Baja Boss M/T over the Legends. My Legends aren’t as sticky in the rocks as my STT Pros were, they collect tiny rocks, and one tire makes an annoying amount of noise while driving down the road.

Running 33 bja boss MT on TJ with 4.5 lift and 4.56 and it’s great. Put 37 MT AT on the gladiator. Excellent ride and traction in snow and mud
