2.0’s can’t be tuned.

Over $2k for a tunable set
Even at today's inflated prices, the steel body remote reservoir 11 and 12" travel that we use are a little over a grand for all 4. We are only grumpy about that since it wasn't that long ago we got pissy when they got up to 150 per corner.

2.0 without any qualification is not tunable. That is specific.

Fox makes and we have used lots of 2.0 emulsion shocks with steel bodies. They are exactly the same tunable as the ones with the reservoirs since they are the same shock just with a reservoir added. We don't use them but we have.

So they have to be specified as emulsion shocks with steel bodies to be tunable?

I do agree, but is it worth it and how many are willing to tune it with the specific tools needed.

No, you have to differentiate between which 2.0 it is. The aluminum body pieces of shit with the internal floating piston are not easily tunable and not worth it even if they were. The 2.0 steel body with the removeable upper and lower caps are very tunable.

You're still confused as to the difference and the differentiation is not anything to do with 2.0.
Ok, thanks for clarifying. Pragmatically, if someone buys some 2.0’s they’ll be getting the Aluminum body shocks with floating piston that Savvy specified as TJ tuned. They aren’t tunable. Correct me if I’m wrong. Around here someone would have to know what they were doing to search it out and avoid buying the pieces of shit ones. 😉
 
It's all good Jeremy. Us common folk are stuck with an off the shelf shock, unless you want to dive in to the shock mount movement game.

I would assume he’s saying that they aren’t 2 grand… they are $300 a piece from accutune.
 
Ok, help me understand the non specificity beyond what @mrblaine mentioned about the IFP.

I agree. I just want to understand if I’m right in the way I’m thinking here and see if you or Blaine can help me understand a question.

So, the IFP separates the oil from N. They have to be longer to allow for expansion of the oil as it gets hot to avoid cavitation. This would limit shock travel?

A reservoir allows more space for the oil to expand and avoid cavitation without having a large shock body which eats up travel?

Any feedback on that? Right or wrong?

My question is how do the steel body Fox 2.0’s remain tunable? Do they sacrifice travel by having a larger shock body that allows for the tune?
 
Im pretty sure Fox 2.0s can be tuned by changing the valve shims.
Apparently it depends on if they have an Internal Floating Piston. Some do and some don’t. I could be wrong. Still trying to learn.
