Bought an LJ

Pretty sure I heard a comment somewhere in Moab about going LS instead of Hemi in the future... something about part availability? :)
Not exactly the comment. It was asked as a hypothetical if he were to do it again.

Gotcha....

I would think Nashville should start over anyway... he needs a fresh start since his is too far gone to repair. Hell I'd be willing to do an even trade with him out of pure generosity, just to help the guy out!

found a great deal on a 1 owner 2006 LJ Rubicon yesterday. 6-speed manual and Pretty much rust free. Going to be a fun project, my second LJ but I’ve never owned any TJ or LJ newer than 04. I’m aware of the OPDA issues but with 236k I’ll run it till it needs to be addressed. It sounds damn good, No codes and passed emissions.

If its gone that long, odds are they replaced it already..love my Lj

Welcome to LJ Rubi world! I had an '04 for 3 years and have had my '06 for 7 years. I bought an OPDA replacement and threatened the LJ with it, but have not installed it. Watch out for the gasoline burp when you fill it up. Only real fix is to drop the tank and repair the valve (many write-ups). Mine is nearly stock - winch, radio, LED headlights and I have never been stuck. Of course, I go mainly to the beach on Padre Is. Have fun!
Drop the tank cut the useless crossmember and put in the Gen Right 31.5 gallon tank...then you can have a beer on the trail while everyone else is messing with their jerrycans...i tell them my jeep is eletric and the mesh top is actually a solar panel

I’ve looked at that would be really nice to have that range

Yes, having run out of gas before...A LOONNNNNG TIME AGO in the middle of no where, I still got anxious once I was below the 1/4 tank line but now...I got another 150 miles at a quarter tank

Here is the OPDA that I pulled from the motor. Some gear wear but it spins smooth and no up or down play in the shaft. LDI should be the stock OPDA manufacturer, rev E must have been an updated version? Not sure if it needed to be changed or not, but I guess it’s good to have piece of mind.

Cooling system refresh. Mopar radiator, water pump, and fan clutch. Along with swapping out the cold air intake for a factory air box and tube.

One step closer. Not a very exciting build thread. Next on the list is installing the motor mount spacers and getting the fan and shroud back on.
