After putting up with a long crank time for a little under a year now, I finally started getting misfire codes. I suspected it was losing pressure at the rail because the injectors had 120k miles on them and the top of the intake manifold and around the injectors was FILTHY! The rough starts got worse in the winter and that's about when the misfire started. Decided on 4 hole injectors from K-suspension. Install went great but I soon found the sorry state of the injectors.
I'm not sure how much this actually contributes to the long crank, rough starts, and misfires but every single injector had cracks and well as evidence of small leaks near the o-rings. Two of the injectors (can't remember which ones) even had weird yellow stains on the end.
New 4 hole injectors from K-suspension fixed my problems and now it idles better too, might even be more responsive. If you are thinking about upgrading injectors anyway, the K-suspension or Bosch ones are worth it. Don't be fooled by the sea of cheap fake ones on Amazon and ebay. Also don't expect a magical increase in MPG. That must be a myth
along the lines of cold air intakes and such.
