Crown OPDA question

I been having intermittent bucking while accelerating with p0016 with p0344 codes. 2 years ago I put in the crown OPDA, no issues until now.
My question...after you take off the cap to the OPDA, is it ok to have slight left right and up down play on that hole dial that is in housing? Does a new OPDA have any movement on that dial? Just wondering if this an indication I need another OPDA.

Mine has a little bit of movement. Mine is a Crown unit. It had an OEM unit in there before and the new Crown unit had a lot less play than the OEM one.

When replacing it’s best to ensure that the cam and crank position sensors are in sync. You will need a bidirectional diag tool for this. Otherwise it’s possible to still have issues. Many have gotten lucky and all is well but occasionally a problem may persist. Likewise check the cam sensor wires as they run over the top of the dipstick mount and are known to run through the wires insulation also causing intermittent problems.

Ok. Thank you. Trying to figure... where is the crankshaft position sensor? The camshaft wires are all good.

On the bellhousing. By the starter IIRC.
