The parked thimble is the same center height as the fairlead.

The @Fluxor bumper is installed with @sunnysideup_lj 's recovery rings.

Bolts are swapped out to #4 Phillips to match everything else.

New lights will go on soon once I can make brackets.

And I need to drill and tap bolt holes under the bumper for the Savvy steering gear skid.

I am not familiar enough with acetal, but its essentially a plastic, right? Is there no concern for the threads when applying force to the thimble keeper when putting the thimble back on and cinching it down with the winch? I realize its not a ton of force needed to keep the thimble on there.

I used the same material as the Black Magic body lift. It has a very high compressive strength that seems like it should easily withstand the pulling and tipping forces against the big internal threaded connection that is bolted through the bumper deck. The stainless threaded rod I used extends almost 4" into the thimble keeper and ends above the thimble eye.

This is my first time working with copolymer acetal. Within my limited experience building with plastics, it is an odd material. It is quite hard, very nice to cut and carve, and has a lubricity similar to the HDPE and Teflon blocks and sheets I have used in the past.
 
Two details to clean up on the bumper installation...

First, when I replaced the supplied Torx bolts with #4 Phillips 5/16-18, Blaine reminded me to double check the countersink angle. The Torx is a 90° metric, while the Phillips is a 82° SAE.

I ought to correct the countersink to match the bolts I am using.

I start by drilling the bolt hole to 3/8" to match my piloted countersink.

Then I used a marker to color to existing taper so that I can keep track of how much material is removed.

Run the 82° countersink until just enough marker is removed, and the bolted connection is correct.

Second, the giant flange nut I used for the thimble keeper was too tall and was deflecting the bumper against the cross member tube creating a small hump.

After a careful measurement of the available space, I shortened the height of the nut along with the bolt length.

Haven't gotten that far yet. On paper, one is brighter than all of my previous Amazon lights.
I’m betting they are plenty bright. I noticed that diode dynamic also has a small light like the Baja design you have. I only have experience with diode dynamics lights and they are good quality.

Here are both side lights. Once I can turn them on and determine the aim and the light cone, I might lower them down as much as I can.

I don't want to be 'that guy' but now you have to sand, buff, sand, buff, wax, and admire your @Fluxor bumper with all those new fingerprints you've added. Otherwise, you're just killing future sales of the bumper and - to be honest - just making your Jeep look bad...


All joking aside - great holder! Love the complicated (work put it) and simple (look and function) design! (y)

Also — I think you just spent some of my 💰 because those matte recovery points look amazing! I was concerned on some of the pics I've seen but yours show how they can fit right in and not draw attention.
