Did I break my AC?

The low side at engine start and a minute into it was about 45, stayed at 45 though higher RPM. The high side was 240, but went up to 300.

Definitely overcharged. It might work ok at lower temps but when you really need it it’s going to be a disappointment. I would suggest paying a good shop for a proper evac and recharge. Depending on where you live it shouldn’t be more than $100 or so.

Sounds about right, (assuming the ambient temperature has increased a bit), Especially since the Jeep is standing still. When you drive it the pressures will reduce. How’s the outlet temperature feel with your hand since you don’t have a thermometer.

The A/C is blowing as cold as Jeep AC can, I think (I have a RAM truck and it does about the same). Cound't find a thermometer to measure the temp at evaporator.

They can get surprisingly cold. Mine will blow at 44 degrees when it’s well over 110 outside. It’ll blow at 30 when the temp is nice and low like 85 degrees.

I’d run it for a few days and monitor performance. Like Nimbley already stated, you’re kind of at the high end of the scale for pressures, but I wouldn’t recover any refrigerant unless the clutch starts slipping again.

I will run the AC in the desert a bit at higher temps and if the behavior doesn't come back will call it good, if it does, I will follow your advice and find a shop to do an evac and recharge.
