Does your TJ have a name?

As I was signing the bill of sale the PO asks me, “ you going to name it? We named her Jeepie.” I’m like “ahh no, that’s really not my thing.”
Agreed, not only do I have no desire to name my vehicles, but this whole conversation is like the typical Facebook mall crawler internet Jeep club pointless banter that drives me nuts.
Wow, that felt good.

People (like myself) have been naming their vehicles LONG before fakebook, the internet or even malls were around. I named my first "Muddog" in 1973.
Roy Rogers' sidekick Pat Brady named his CJ2-A "Nellybelle" back in the '50s.

Some good names here. I don’t consider my Rubi a “she”. I’ve been sailing for a long time and for me, “she” refers to a boat so it’s weird to say “she”.

My Rubi is called “Hirvi” (pronounced here-vee and if you’re good you’ll roll the ‘r’). In Finish that’s “Moose”. Vanity plates coming in 2020 ;)

Queticon was my old TJ sort of a play on words crossed between Quetico and Rubicon.

Hyvaa.

My my we're a little defensive, aren't we?

Getting all worked up over something so trivial.
Maybe a little, but the Muddog isn't just a piece of machinery to me. He's a part of who I am, and I think that a lot of us here feel the same way. If the other guy has a problem with that, he needn't get involved.
I don't need a lift, 35" tires, new gears, fancy wheels and such to enjoy MY Jeep, but I DON'T get on threads of those who do just to bash them.

Nobody was bashing anyone. I simply said I call it Jeep. It was you who decided to claim I had no imagination, and now I'm getting subtle jabs thrown my way because of my lift and 35s.

But yeah man, keep doing you.

'Sometimes' it's like a nickname in the military. You don't give yourself a nickname, it doesn't work that way. You have to do something really really cool (which is rare) or something really really dumb (which is much more frequent). Bam, there's your nickname. Unless of course you have a real name that can be used to make a nickname. Like this guy. Probably thought he'll have a cool nickname with a last name that sounds like Lazer. Nope.

I don’t know about that, when you say Lt. Crotch, then yes, when you're in a bar full of women, it might not be a bad thing to be “The Crotch Lazers” WM.

Depends on how much alcohol I have to drink! I have a hard time with names, usually with my dog, I just yell “dog”
My deaf English Bulldogs name is Bug. When asked I tell them his name and that he is stone deaf and they say “oh why did you name him that, I just tell them it’s easy to say.

View attachment 50011 On the test drive after my brother and I installed a Banks turbocharger with intercooler I told him it takes off like a bullet, he said “yeah, a silver bullet”. So that is how my ‘04 TJ got the name Silver Bullet, but I refer to her as Bullet.

Bullet has been getting upgraded since the original picture was taken, 33” tires, Torsten Differentials front and rear, sliders, and WARN winches front and rear.
