Doing a small lift with H&R springs. If additional bump stop is needed, is the preferred way to drill & tap through the 3/8" steel disc and the bump stop pad on the spring perch?

Dana 30 must be different I don't remember a 3/8 thick disc and I swear there was a dimple in the center. But yes that is the way I have done it in the past. I remember last time I drilled and used a self tapping bolt
Did you buy the Jeep used?
That looks to me like a 3/8” disc was welded ontop of the plate @P man is referencing.
Either way you can tap through both like was mentioned.
Yes bought used. I was initially confused by the steel discs as well. Cross referencing the number stamped on the axle tube with the Dana/Spicer Bill of Material numerical listing, it says it's from a 2003-04 TJ. The PO took out the front Dana 30 and swapped in the Dana 44 from a Rubicon. The more I look at them, I think the 3/8" discs are factory

I believe the extra pad was a Rubicon thing and you can just tap it or take it off and tap it.
