Ever seen or heard of a diesel powered TJ?

Cool shop. Got some good info about the fuel pump. With regard to the 4BT, not convinced for a TJ although the tech info is good.

Those videos apparently from the owner of the jeep in the shop video above confirm my feelings about a 4BT in a TJ. So obnoxiously loud and not in a good way.

I'm sure it's a niche type that would like the 4BT in a TJ... I'm not sure if I'd like one but I had thought about a diesel swap fr mine at one point.

But I'm also not sold on the 1.9 or the 2.8 having enough umph to satisfy me or my desire for power.. I'll take my V-8 instead. But we all have different goals with our rigs too.

I like the 2.8 in theory. Civilized. Good power and potential for more. I like @NDSpeed ’s rig. I hope support for that platform continues to grow.

The 1.9 is cool, but would need to be turned up. The packaging might be nice too.

Hard to argue with your hemi though😃

Edit: You’re right though. Everyone should do their own thing. I just spouted off because I own a 4BT and a TJ so I feel like I’m in position to have a relevant opinion.

I do hope they continue with them too.

My ex had a VW wagon with one. I'm just not sure how I'd like one in a TJ.

Other than the fuel mileage....

I've only driven a Chevy box van with the 4BT in it...

I totally agree with this . While I would like an LS small block with the AX-15 , I will keep the injected Rambler engine , I like the simpler side of things and since it's in a Jeep I really don't mind the underwhelming performance . It is a time machine that takes you back 50 years. I will say if I had a full size 4X4 truck with 242 like performance , I couldn't stand it . The cool thing is everybody has a different way to view TJ's and their application , and I like that.
