Normal car wash OK?

No, by the time you get it out in a year or so you will learn how to be steering away from it!
I do removed my tires out and spray washed, clean the caliper good, even laying down the LJ the mud is hard to get it out

try and get the mud off as quick as you can, also some mud will cause stains on the interior. Wash rinse and repeat several times you will be finding mud for weeks. Ask me how I know

Best to take a hose, or the wand at a car wash, and hit every hole in the sides of the frame that you can. Water will start running out of other holes in the frame when you do this. I'd do it until what comes out is clear. Some, including myself, have drilled drain holes in the bottom of the frame, right behind the front control arm mounts as well as right in front of the rear control arm mounts. If I remember correctly, I drilled 3/8" holes, or somewhere near that size. touch up the holes with some paint to reduce rust.

On the sides o the frame, near the back of the front tires are big openings. I got some plugs and put in there to keep the front tires from throwing as much stuff in there. There are holes on the opposite side on the inside, but I didn't plug those, just the outboard ones. That alone will not eliminate getting stuff in your frame, but it will help some.

If you have one of those fan spray sprinklers, it will help clean the underside some. I do that after making trips to the Outer Banks and driving on the beach. Just move it around in 4 or 5 places for about 15 minutes each.

By the looks of your jeep, you're going to have a lot up mud under it to clean out/off.

You weren’t joking about the holes. Took it to touchless car wash then pressure washed everything at home. Stuck hose in holes and muddy water was flowing for a good five minutes.

Yes, this is the advice and the big question-

I’ve seen rancid mud water etch clearcoat.

Man whatever you do, keep doing it with those boys- we rode dirt bikes , fished , you name it. Then I blinked....and they grew up, had their interests and friends, etc.

You will never regret time spent with them. Of course they will go home and tell mom how you nearly go ‘em killed and all that....

Imagine having a spotter telling you to give it a bump and doing that, rock square into the diff cover. Been there done that.

My first wheeling experience was horrible, I didn’t know how to drive in 4lo and roasted my clutch. My kids also thought they were going to die ha! After several more trails and practicing on some back gravel roads with ruts I got the feel for it. My son still gets nervous, especially after a snow adventure that found us aping around! Even after all that, my wife and kids love a great Jeep day! Ohh and avoid the mud it sucks!
