Front diff bearing oddness, run it or replace it?

From what I can see I didn't have a problem with the pattern at all. The drive side is what we need to focus on and it wiped all the paint off the tooth. I thinks it's good to go .

You might have been able to get away with yellow mustard for this one time. The problem is when your gears heat up it'll smell like hotdogs all the time .

Ok, here's the pattern, such as it is. My education thus far via @hosejockey61 's video says this it ain't right, but maybe it doesn't matter for gears with 150K on them. I may have mixed the glop wrong too...

Yea, that was my thought when I was smearing it on, it was a bit watery.

At my working pace, its gonna be a bit yet. Sunday, I hope to get the axle shafts back in and do the prelim static test of the locker according to their procedure. Then I can button that up, and fill with oil. Then the brake calipers need to be changed and bolted on, blah, blah. Then install the new steering bits (ZJ upgrade), and off to get it aligned. Then I'll take it to a nearby dirt road first.

Getting things put back together. 150 Ft-lbs on the nuts at the moment. Gonna go to O'Reillys and borrow their 250 ft-lb torque wrench to get it to 175 - mine only goes to 150.

Attempted to do the static test on the locker. Once side worked, the other didn't. Hit the web, read about someone having the exact same issue calling PowerTrax who told them it was just tight because it was new, run it and it'll be fine. They did and it was fine. So that's what I'm gonna do unless someone has a better idea.

Yea, I kinda figured that. What I'm gonna do is borrow their torque wrench (its free), and set it to 175, and see what the rotational distance is. I bet its less than a quarter turn. Then I'll know.

If you're at 150 now, I bet 175 will be less than an 1/8" more rotation. Let us know
