Frontend Stretch

I'm in the process of moving my front axle forward to help the axle clear the engine but I have a V-8 in mine. And I'm running into clearance issues without moving the steering box or using the TNT kit. But I did it differently as I moved the upper spring/shock towers forward 2". That gets the diff bridge I have forward of the engine. I used Artec for the upper mounts.

I need to get my engine assembled so I can set it in the frame and verify clearances before I weld everything up.

There isn't a lot of room now for the steering linkage and trackbar to fit.
Thats a whole nother level of fabrication than I'm planning!

You will have to move the steering box forward, it sits under the radiator, then the radiator gets in the way and you have to either do a body lift or move the radiator forward.
Genright has a twisted pitman arm for highsteer setup. Reading it sounds like you may be able to correct without moving the steering box

Are you talking about this arm?

Yes I am. Thanks. Did you install one?

Yes those pictures are of my TJ. I'd bought my twisted arm and just days later that one came up for sale. Good price on it and I like it so far. You have to get the upper and lower spring mounts aliened with each other so what are you planning on doing? I looked at both options before I decided moving the upper mounts was how I wanted to do it. But I also have a custom HP44 in the front and didn't want to cut the brackets off it. Moving the lower spring pad mounts is about the same amount of work IMO.

But with moving the axle forward I'm having some clearance issues as now all your steering and trackbar want to occupy the same space. This is why I think turning the steering box might be needed.

That looks great. Any chance he's making more?
I’m sure he can as he has it saved on his computer and owns a plasma table. I can get ahold of him after Thanksgiving if you will remind me to. I know I had to source the Specific Size DOM tube for the new cross member and some D shaped rod for the steering extension and a couple steering joints but he gave me all that info and he also made me a bracket that holds a mid steering Rod support / bearing and a new front center body mount bracket that is not shown as well.
