Currently a college student so funds are extremely limited and I really shouldn’t be putting more money into my jeep but I can’t resist it. My current CA bushings are cracked and causing popping noises so I am looking to get new ones. I see two options here on how to spend my money:
1.) Get crown OEM replacements ($200) AND new rancho shocks (~$230) Total: $400-$430
2.) Stick with current OME shocks but get a pair of used adjustable control arms. ($600-$1200) .
The reason I am throwing shocks into the equation is because currently I have an OME 2.5 inch suspension lift and the shocks ride pretty rough. Bumps are bone rattling. I do daily my Lj and it is my commuter so a smoother ride would be nice.
Adjustable control arms are definitely not needed seeing as I only have 2.5 inches of lift, however I plan on doing a tummy tuck and eventually going up in lift size (4 in) so it is beneficial there. But then again I am in school right now so how badly do I really need a tuck. The times that I off-road I have only caught on my shovel of a skid once or twice. But I would like to wheel more which would be helped with a tummy tuck. But I could also wait until I am actually employed and then get the adj arms, lift, tuck, sye/shaft all at once the proper way. That just takes time.
Now that I’m writing this post it is making more sense to go with option one but I am gonna post it anyways for additional feedback
