We got along just fine! But I know of what you speak!Number of people actively chatting on HAM frequencies I'd engage with, 0...
In the world we live in, one of your "friends" would probably turn you in.If you don't buy a license and use the radio what is going to happen to you? How is it even enforced?
I have my ham license even, but it's just not very useful to me whereas GMRS is. The primary use I've had for HAM is APRS!We got along just fine! But I know of what you speak!
Catching you is easy IF they want to. Catching you usually starts with a slap on the wrist and the threat of a $10,000.00 fine and/or jail.If you don't buy a license and use the radio what is going to happen to you? How is it even enforced?
To make a joke, it would be the same thing if you bought a licence and most people you talked to told you to get off the airwaves and once a day somebody got in a radio rage. At least that's what happens when I drive at or below the speed limit. Probably a regional thing.Did you speed today? Same thing.

If they even pursue it, the Federal Communications Commission. This has nothing to do with Free speech.who gives you a ticket? I believe in freedom of speech.
I cannot understand what having a license does. And who gives you a ticket? I believe in freedom of speech.
I have that model and I think @JMT does as well. I've had it out on the trails twice and it works fine. Battery life is great and I like that it charges with USB-C. Good for the price, imho.
