Half-door saga; am I going to regret getting into this?

Also - did they not post a picture of both sides of the door indicating there was no inner door panel?

That’s what i thought i was getting.
I just enquired about a mint set of black half doors I found on marketplace. Seller was asking 875.00 for the pair.
asked him what color the door panels were. I was informed the panels do not come with the doors, but can purchase them for an additional 450.00. Plus 250.00 for the uppers.

Good for you to ask in advance.

All the salvage yards that I’ve shopped through the interchange have a series of photos, apparently when the vehicle is brought in. I’m sure the photos get outdated quickly as they strip the vehicle.

They omitted an interior latch from one door as well; when I complained they said that should have been included.

I’ll be in touch with the yard this week and see what they’re willing to do for me. I’ll bring up your point about the photos.

$375 for half doors with inners and the uppers, but I had to paint. It was a saga and I have had issues with the latches I have had to deal with. But it’s worth it on the trail and for some pavement riding!

If their pictures don’t match what they are selling, that’s on them. Unfortunately you spent a good bit on shipping them so it’s not like you can drive back over there.

Did you see the bags i posted? Those may help.

No one's going to mention that he painted over a set of black door panels?

I would have given good money for those plus my set of mismatched ones.
They weren't original black. Gray that had been painted black by someone before me. Peeling and scratched up.

The doors them self were original black, but the exterior had been spray painted with a textured black.

I don’t t have any experience with these, but you might be able to use something like this in place of the inner door panel?

Those are nice bags too I did that on mine.

The half doors could be skinned with Kydex, it is cheap and easy to work with. I would say .125-.1873" would be good. It can even be tapped. Molds easy with a heat gun and is very stable.

I bought the tinted uppers on ebay.

Just found a pair with the interior color I need in great shape…no uppers but I’d run full doors if needed. $800 on Facebook market place, seems the going rate. Having the Jeep painted anyway so I’ll just have them painted to match.

Nice find. I was just going to see what you thought shipping might run, if we swapped.

I didn’t know these doors accept factory uppers who makes them,I should have bought them, instead of doing a set of factory doors.
