HAM radio with mars cap mod

Started with a 3/8" carriage bolt.

Ground the top of it flat, it now fits a standard mic clip.

Cut the bolt off of it.

Drilled a mounting hole.

Crude, but effective.
 
So got my Jeep back with the Anytone mounted. Though I don't have anything to hang the mic on. It has a different connector on the back. If anyone has this attachment on the back, what are you using to hang the mic?

My previous mic had the round circle shaped connector that most CB's and ham have.

Some glue a molybdenum magnet on the back of the microphone so it will stick to any steel surface. In the absence of an appropriate steel surface, a small steel disk or rectangle can be glued or screwed in place.

There are commercial versions as well:

Ya know, I looked for one of those damn things and couldn't find one. Didn't know what it was called - so I ended up making my own.
