For those on the fence about a double din, OnX Offroad is now CarPlay enabled (if you're an Apple guy, dunno about Android) so if you like to mark trails & all that on the OnX app, having it on the big screen would be super nice. I had been thinking about a new single din stereo, but having that app has pushed me 100% into the double din + CarPlay world.

Behind the steering wheel, in the dash. I have my amplifier there, and @sourbluff installed this same amplifier. Here are pics from his install. There is an easy place to ground the amp, and close by is a hole in the firewall to run the power wire through, on the way to the battery.
When you ground the Amp, I highly recommend removing the paint from the Amp's grounding spot. Sandpaper, or if you already own a Dremel or similar tool, can be used to remove the paint.
Is there a technical reason to use the cutting board material for the amp mount, or is that just a convenient way to mount it?

I was wondethat myself. I'm guessing it's a more solid surface and keeps the amp in a free floating state to allow for airflow for cooling.
Cheap, easy to form for an installer's location, and sturdy. Plywood is also a good choice, even mdf board is okay to use for the same reasons as that plastic cutting board material.
I know they are a little on the pricey side, but I plan on going with this one when I change heads out. Mostly for the cameras, CarPlay, and the OBDII read.

Stick to 5.25" round in the front, they are naturally better than oval 4x6 speakers, generally speaking...
Responding just to get in the loop. Not seeing camera interface on the IA. A deal breaker for me.
Not to hijack but I'm in the market also. Much less interested in top end audio than the other features - camera, maps. I have woofers and decent pod speakers so pretty much looking for a decent display. Marine would be a plus.
