I want to buy this Jeep but I need your help

X2 to this, I would start at 5k, cash if you got it, and go as far as 5.4 or 5.5k. It looks good from the pictures but like LR says it will be hard to get your money back out of it with a salvage title. It looks like it has Factory control arms still and they don’t look new so I don’t think the suspension was damaged or there would be new pieces. In the damaged right fender picture there is a damaged left side flare and the fluid bottles mounted on the left inner are all brand new. Is the fan and radiator new also?

There might have been more damage than the seller is telling you. Remember.... He is a car salesman.... he is in the business to sell as many cars as he can. He may not lie to you, but he may not tell you everything. The frame may be tweeked, but not visible to the untrained eye.

Just dont want to you jump on that Jeep because it’s your dream car and in your price range. Like lowranger said above he’s not going to tell you everything wrong with the car. You’ll probably find out yourself after driving the Jeep for a couple of days and if it’s something big there goes your budget and the car that you need.

Have you tried looking for a Jeep outside of your area maybe 2-4 hours away from you?

So I have to get a cheap honda civic and wait for one? I couldnt even get a $6000 loan I was counter offered $3000. I have no money, Ive always wanted a jeep wrangler like this one... I’m just running out of time is all and I’m scared

Just don’t make the fact that it’s your dream car and in your price range the reason for buying that Jeep.

To me, it seems like the owner bought the Jeep to flip it. I also find it hard to beleive that an insurance company would total that Jeep with a bent bumper and fender. Bent frame maybe?? A Jeep with a salvaged title isn't worth that much and hard to sell if you decide to upgrade in the future.

Yes. This means the Jeep was damaged enough that the insurance company choose not to repair the vehicle. It was salvaged and sold at auction and somebody repaired it and applied for a reconstructed title.
With an SE that might not have been much damage. Realistically an insurance adjuster would probably value the Jeep under 3k. I still would strongly recommend you keep looking and avoid salvage/ reconstructed titles. You will never be able to sell it and will have more difficulty insuring it.
If you are desperate buy a $1000 car that you can sell in a couple months. Cheap hondas and toyotas are easy to sell quickly.

If I was in your shoes and needed a car, I'd go buy a $1000 Dakota or something, drive for a year and shoe box some more cash and get one without the uncertainties. And 4.0

I keep hearing the reconstructed title arguements. I understand that for sure. I’m not sure what the difficulty of the reconstructed title would be with insurance Other than pay a little more.

Not emotional just trying to do the right thing for me. Good advice, some better than others. Could care less for the sell later advice but the frame damage speculation is more valuable

I can do it. I don’t think the purchase price is high just working within my boundries. The price of average cost repair for a Jeep over 10 years is closer to Honda than anywhere near a BMW

Have you driven it at 55-60 to see how it feels? Drove several when I was searching for mine that drove like crap. All over the road. Picked my 02 because it drove rock solid, tight steering, no wandering. Good luck but unless you’re a mechanic I’d be leery of a salvage title.
