You could see why I prioritized this over my engine skid
. I don't know the year they changed, but this thing would fail immediately if graced a rock at any speed.
So my buddy took way more pictures but this was the only picture I took of today's ride. Yep, I took the easy line. I also ended up getting my front diff hung up on a huge rock, but those pictures will come eventually. Great local ride today.
Sadly I have no winch, yet! I had a peer with me in a JKU and a slight tug from the rear help me self correct my line. Unlocked and aired down surprising me what can be passed, much more than I thought the TJ could originally do!
Good to hear! It is awfully surprising how capable they are, I agree. Mine always amazes me. Most of the time when I think I’m stuck, I can get out without the winch.
Got a surprise today! I underestimated how thick this thing would really be. As always UPS threw it at my door step

Mini update, I may be traveling to South Florida on Black Friday to purchased a used warn winch from someone I saw listed on CL. It comes with wire but will probably swap it out with some TRE before using it. Really stoked its exactly the model I was looking for and for 1/3rd of the price. I will update accordingly with that next week & will be updating you guys this monday with the skid installed. Stoked
I guess you can't be too fussy about shipping dings considering what the skid is going to be used for, and what it will encounter later on in life. Its an expectation at this point for me lol. Although I do agree, just like the control arms. Its going to get beat up, real bad.
Nice skid. Yeah, that other one is a joke. I saw a TJ for a couple weeks around my parts driving around with it hanging down. It had literally come undone on the front side and just dangling about an inch above the ground!

They advertise up to 1-3/4” clearance. I will measure when I mount it
