James & The Sahara Build Thread

Total score on that Currie steering. I have one myself and I am always amazed at how well built it is, and how much larger it is than the stock one!

Another BIG Update! I got an awesome score today for an upgrade I didn't think I would have anytime soon. A local Jeep club member ended up trading a Currie Currectlink Steering System (CE-9701) for my ARB Front Bull Bar. So I met him today on campus and we swapped bumpers and installed the new steering system. All I can say is the steering upgrade was more significant than I thought it would be, the Jeep drives like a dream. The new bumper is just a stock TJ one but repainted, it does have a winch plate which is a plus. Gives me a little time to figure out my bumper situation. The most important thing about this upgrade is the fact the Currie System is incredibly stronger & you can feel it handling the two systems. Here are some photos from today, glad I got this knocked out!

I'm a fan of the minimalist style myself. Getting ready to swap my bumpers for something else. I'd say that's one heck of a trade!

Yes it is! The other day I got to test out my Jeep since I have done all the mods. She did not struggle through any obstacle on any of the trails we rode. Her crawl is more of a 5mph travel so really looking forward towards that regear quote. I have contacted several local companies so just trying to find one that wants to build an 8.8 with an ARB for me! :D

I am currently studying up on tube doors for daily use, I like my full doors but don't want to trash them on the rocky mountain trails lol, want to keep them *semi* nice.

Also some photos were taken of what we did so I will be uploading those as soon as I get them.

I woke up today to this lol. Today sucked.

Seriously? People suck! I have my old Alpine HU if you want it. Yours free if you need something to get you by.

That's messed up. Your soft top windows alright?? That would be my biggest concern. I hate all that got stolen but that's when you start dropping big money on soft top windows...
Soft top windows are fine, they ripped the center console lid off stealing some things so gonna need to fix or replace that. Definately giving tuffy products some thought. Sucks because all the money I have I am putting towards my axles so I'll have to live like this a little while. Bought a set of used side steps the other day. Going to look at a dana 44 this next week.

At least you don't have to worry about rain getting in and only have to replace the things that were stolen. Looks like @bobthetj03 has you hooked up to get some tunes again! This is why we can't have nice things. On my first Jeep (88 YJ) I spent all my birthday money when I was 16 on lights. Roughly $350 worth of lights on the front. We were living in an apartment complex at the time. Everything fine and no big deal. Moved into one of the best neighborhoods in town 6 months later and parked it on the street within the first week of moving in. All lights gone. Couldn't believe it.
