IMHO you need to add 1-2 thou....1 thou if you can make a combination work. If not, your drive side is good, which is the side we are focusing on mostly. Can you make it happen or are you going to settle? 😎

The rear axle is back in place with the new control arms. I kept roughly the original geometry for simplicity since this is my first suspension build. I bought 2½" lift springs but it's still sitting at 8" compressed. Most likely due to the added weight. I might have to go with taller springs in the rear, but I'll see how it sits once the front is done. At full stuff, the first thing to hit are the factory bump stops so I'm happy with that. Also I still need to install the shocks, run air lines for the locker, make new brake lines & paint.

I did the disc brake conversion & BMB caliper flip to the front in preparation for out boarding the rear shocks. That's why I haven't installed them yet.

Air compressor is mounted under the passenger seat but not wired up or any air lines. I'm kinda on the fence about this location but I don't plan on fording high water anytime soon.

Finally I also got the engine skid plate installed. It was designed to go with a different transmission skid so I modified it to work.

Time for the front axle. I got the spring & shock brackets welded in. I wasn't able to get the back side welded but I'm confident it will be strong enough. Had I thought of it before, I would have cut a slot in the middle & welded the top part of the frame from the outside. I also reused the center section of the stock spring mounts. My plan is to use some hockey pucks as a bump stops. IIRC it's better to have the bump stops on the axle side.

I had to cut out my inner fender liner because I had used pop rivets the first time. I have a plan for using screws next time. Also I raised the pillow block to get a better alignment of the steering shaft.

With that done I pulled the axle out to install all the reinforcement pieces. I couldn't get the axle to sit right in my axle stands so I just used the saw horses instead. Then I yanked all it's guts out to start prepping for the regear. I also drilled & tapped the center of the center section of the spring perch to mount my bump stops. I also welded some nuts underneath for extra threads. I'll bolt on the first one then use some type of glue for vulcanized rubber to attach the second one. Maybe this will work but if not then I'll figure something else out.

Working on the front axle this weekend. I've got all the new components installed & working on dialing in the gear set up. I'd like some advice @hosejockey61 if possible. Backlash is good 0.007" & preload is around 18-inch lbs. This is the pattern I've got. I'm not sure I can increase the pinion depth any more or irmt will rub on the locker.

No need to increase pinion depth anyway. You are really deep right now. I would take out 10 thou to see where it puts you.

Also, there is no need to establish pinion preload until after the depth is established. Get it close without using shims and that suffices while establishing depth.

Since this appears to be your front axle, is it a LP30?

Took 0.010" out of the pinion & made some adjustments to get the backlash back in spec. Here's what I got so far...

Did you reinstall the shim behind the pinion bearing or were you just guessing at depth? What was the reasoning behind your starting point?
