Keychain Delivered

@DrDmoney saw that you are running G2 Core 44s. Is front housing on FB marketplace for good price that I’m thinking of grabbing. Have you had any issues with yours? I know it takes JK ring/pinion and locker but axle shafts and knuckles out is same as TJ rubicon right? So I can use my Currie trac bar and steering and eventually do BBK right?

Any issues or concerns with the diff cover as I believe you can’t swap it out.

Guy has a rear housing too but was planned for XJ so no brackets. As I already have Dana 44 rear under LJ thinking that is not worth hassle.

Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

The parts will all swap over and I’ve had no issues with the diff cover and pluses are a beefier high pinion 44 with a larger ring gear.

To add to this, I had a 44 in the rear prior to the G2’s it didn’t make sense to put new axles, lockers, disc brakes, and beef up the brackets on mine when I could get an assembly that was plug n play for a bit more.

My latest FB marketplace find. First time out of shipping crate was to load it into Uhaul. Pretty sure both my brother and I owe my sister-in-law as she put up with turning what should have been short return trip home from spring vacation into very long day going out of way to find Uhual, get housing, and wheels/tires for his Chevelle.

Change in direction as I had been collecting to build HP Dana 30 but price was right and should be better investment long term. Now to figure out the right gears and locker plus save up for shafts and BBK.

One thing that goes away with 35 is the third brake light. Picked up this Xprite from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082MDGRRZ/?tag=wranglerorg-20). It is for JK so need to adjust couple of the mounting holes. My brother wasn’t happy with how it sat against carrier so spaced it out slightly and added some clips to make sure stays in place when pull spare. Hopefully people will know when I’m stopping now.

While you did the right thing, I can’t judge your brother for adding some clips and spacing it out a little bit.

Wow has been forever since I’ve updated this. Sadly though parts pile has grown, no real LJ updates to make. However, my LJ’s nanny/mechanic (younger brother 😉) is fully moved into his new house and has this going on in his yard so soon will be no excuse not to work on jeep.

Still no work on the LJ. But my younger brother did sacrifice his life savings for a pile of wood so at least his shop is coming together. Good thing as I think between his Chevelle and the LJ his garage is overran with parts.

After a couple months of looking and about 1.5 week waiting on shipping my new keychain was finally delivered.

Best part is that it came with this: 2005 LJ, 135k on clock, 4” Currie lift with double adjustable uppers, Rancho RS9000XL, 33s and a few other small upgrades. Already have Savvy BL, BrownDog MML, and working on trade for 35s so some changes are coming.

Grease, I don’t see any grease oozing out of these greasable joints !
•Not to offend you, it’s the mechanics best friend , grease IS cheap, compared to purchasing parts.

“One ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” 😉

I dont know what to be more jealous of, the workshop, the lift, the LJ or the Chevelle haha
Great set up though...

Well only the LJ is mine so I’m jealous of the rest just like you! Though I do get to use them and he even let me have keys to Chevelle … once LOL

Bought this from @HornedToad more than a year ago. Since then my younger brother has moved, built a shop, and poor LJ has driven may 1,000 miles. Finally starting on the parts pile that has accumulated during that time although I think the real reason is that my younger brother wants to use his new lift.

Wasn‘t without a bit of fight but quick review of trusty WTJF and ratchet strap appear to have saved the day. Have to address pre existing exhaust issue before take it out for test drive and then bolt on the skid. Of course all the sitting, battery has given up so waiting on Amazon to bring extra cranking amps and exhaust hanger.

I have one of those too. They are very durable...I discharged mine so much I had to add another battery in parallel with my charger to get it to recognize 12 volts...and it survived! I forgot my torque OBDII dongle and the LED really pulled that battery down.
