Keychain Delivered

Wow has this thread been neglected. Just like the LJ 😢. After the under armor had a bit of front end wobble. Not full blown but noticeable at around 40. My brother chased it down to like frame side attachment for trac bar. No flag nut and bit loose. So I hop on RockJock website ordered up bolt and flag nut for current rod end. Initial quote shipping is more than the parts. Quick email to sales team got that fixed.

Get message from my brother “umm this bolt you ordered is to big for the johhny joint”.

Yeah that won’t fit

Back to WTJF and figure out I have older style rod end. Ok guess are doing a full upgrade and will have a spare. Talked with same sales guy for RockJock who knocked some off the order and had joint assembled before shipping to save me the trouble. Great customer service and quick shipping both times.

May be a while before gets installed though. Something about pink stuff being higher priority when is in the teens.

Nice LJ..!!

Was just wondering if you sold your grill overlay or just took it off?
I would be interested in it if you still had it.
Thanks

Yeah Trektop. Window storage is kinda pain and looks bit goofy if try lay it down all way. But other than that really like it. And despite what others have said got great service from Bestop when had pin hole near seam.

Last I saw it was hanging on my nephews wall with couple neon lights behind it.

In Apr ‘21 purchased a custom switch panel from https://www.custom3dfab.com/ Figure 2 years is long enough should probably get it installed 😉. Actually not lot has been done as my brother moved and has been building a shop that he now has to point that can work comfortably in. It will hold a Voswitch, couple switches and charging ports (sent to vendor so could configure panel to them). Very happy with quality of product and how looks now that finally have it installed.

I have ‘05 manual 135k and am talking with someone with ‘05 auto 70k about swapping transmissions. I’ve read what threads and builds I can on here but before book shop time want to ask if there is anything I should plan for in terms of speciality tools, parts to replace with new while both jeeps are apart and general guidance from collective wisdom here.

The toughest part of the job will be swapping the pilot bearing out of yours for the torque converter bushing and vice versa. If you aren't exceptionally familiar, they can be a real bitch to deal with. I've got about 5 different ways I can get them out so they don't bother me. You'll need to get the torque converter bushing new. I can dig up the part number if needed. They should get a new pilot bushing and bearing since I'm not a fan of trying to reuse any of them after removal from the crank.

The rest is pretty basic if you have any mechanical skills.

TY sir greatly appreciated. Need to drop you email re used BBK also just to make sure have all need. I’ll take any part numbers you would suggest if not to much hassle.

My brother is former auto tech and guy with auto son has shop so hopefully they have the mechanical skills. I’m barely good for holding flashlight or so was told in my youth.
