Midnight LJR Build

Beautiful ride, I don't think you will be taking it apart anymore Mike.

While it’s apart I might as well...

Let's see a back shot with the bottom trim piece, if you get a minute.

Not sure exactly which picture you where looking for. Dod I already post one or need me to take another?

I actually got them because of your thread. I like them a lot, the headlights and the fog lights really make driving at night more enjoyable.

Wheels are Method MR305.

Yep, the look good on the bumper too. Not too big, but not too small.

I thought they were 305s. I wasn't 100% sure from that first photo, but after zooming in on it I confirmed.

I actually really like the Method 305 wheels. I have them on my Toyota Tacoma in the bronze color.

Mike, it isn't the hydro assist that changes the effort. It is transparent. What changes the effort is the spec on the torsion bar in the steering gear.

Oh ya that’s right, you already went over that with me. Thanks for clarifying.

Really a cut above. I had the privilege of seeing a few pics of your jeep (not knowing it was yours) to discuss my build plans with Blaine. Seeing how amazing your jeep is solidifies some decisions I’m making now. Amazing Jeep. Classic but very capable! Well done 👍🏼

Cool! Look forward to seeing what you have done.

Looking at the trim piece, I realize that I forgot to put some Velcro back down for the end of the Bed Rug. It was holding up the inside edge of the trim so I removed it and was going to replace it. If you don't have some, I can send some over with my apologies for missing that.

We also fixed the keeper on the outside latch and corrected the fasteners for the inside door pulls. The battery terminals also include shortened winch cables and a bit of rerouting that mess you had.

Fortunately my OCD kicked in with an answer on the missing bolts in the bumper corners. They were missing until about 2 hours before you got here.

I am glad you have OCD too, I would have likely had to buy a new bumper. It bothered me way to much.

I will let you know in the Velcro I think I might have some extra. I appreciate you letting me know.

I was looking at that this morning forget to mention. Cables are so much better now. Thank you.

Don't forget to check the rear window defroster from time to time to make sure the repair still works.

Oh ya! I can try that tonight on the way home. You guys did so much it’s hard to keep it all straight.

Also forgot you redid the whole spare tire mount and dialed all that in.

Really great build. Should be a lot of fun to wheel and just drive around town. Makes me want to put my 230,000 mile POS on a truck heading towards California.
If you think I'm an asshole on here, you ought to talk to me on the phone where I can really be a curmudgeon. Or put another way, we'd have to have several phone chats before I'd consider helping you realize a dream. I have to be able to browbeat, berate, and abuse you mercilessly on the phone and in person before I even consider putting a single tool to your vehicle. If you can tolerate all the crap I dish out, then I make everything your responsibility to take care of. You have to keep bothering me to see if I still recall who you are and what you want done and I'm not even nice about it. I will literally get off the phone with you and go "hmmm, wonder what that asshole wanted".

Never had half doors or soft uppers before.

The weather stripping seems extra long on the best top soft uppers. Am I supposed to trim it. Or is there a certain way it should be routed?

I might have to learn to weld and do it myself then. My tolerance for that isn’t too high unfortunately 🙂
