California Norcal Jeep Adventure Christmas tree run

So this brings into mind a PSI question for snow. Does it depend on how deep the snow is ? Only a foot and drop the psi 18-20? Or way low so the footprint is bigger?
From my experience, I don’t drop too low on the PSI in the snow, I want them digging cause I don’t think lower psi will keep me from bottoming out in deep stuff. Plus if I throw on the chains the psi needs to be up.
Just for discussing, I have no worries about getting stuck with you guys

I typically just air down to 15psi once we go off pavement and go from there. With as light as our TJ's are in comparison to a full size truck, I'd think you'd want to float across the snow as best as possible. Once the front diff becomes a snow plow there isn't much more you can do. On last year's run, it snowed heavy the night before, so the snow pack was super powdery, so we all just sank as we went and blasted on thru as the snow was light.

Do we end back up in Upper Lake. Or is this a start at Upper lake and end up near another freeway kind of trip? Im only asking because im debating on towing my jeep up instead of driving it.

@lowranger can verify this, but past trips we did a round trip. Start in Upper Lake, finish in Upper Lake. There is a Casino right next door to the park we are meeting at with a huge lit parking lot. Chances are pretty good we'll be coming back in the dark, so it depends on if you prefer driving your jeep home in the dark, or loading your jeep on the trailer in the dark.

All the kids bailed on me since grandma is coming to town. I'm not sure if I would want to bring Charlie solo yet anyways 🤣 I'm sure next year it will be a lot easier since she'll be 3. Maybe I could convince the dog. @tomtaylz do you want to join? 🤷‍♂️

I think I’ll have to pass on this run. I have our work holiday party tomorrow night and have only been home two-ish weekends in the last two and a half months

Are any other kids coming along? Deciding if we want to bring our little one. Or have her stay with grandma?

It might be a bit too much driving time for her if no one else is bringing kids and planning to have them get out and play every once in a while etc.

I don’t think there are any other kids going. It’s gunna be raining dog balls tomorrow. Grandma for the win !
Edit. Flash Flood warnings for the Mendocino Complex Fire till Saturday night. Should be a epic trip

We usually always invite to bring the critters, but with the weather being unpredictable, you might question your sanity if you get cooped up in the Jeep. We wanted to bring the grandkids, but decided against it with the weather.

Thanks guys, grandma it is!

Don’t think I want to trap my toddler in the the Jeep all day. Won’t be any fun for either of us.
