Pitman arm install

New steering box and pitman arm.
Looking for install guidance. Do I need to turn the steering shaft a certain way or amount before installing the arm.
The arm can be installed 4 different directions because of the splines.

Photo is just mock up. I do have the lock washer.

So it's centered in its available travel but you have to be careful doing that. If you turn the steering wheel too far without the drag link connected it can destroy the coiled clock spring wiring connector under the steering wheel.

the pitman should be clocked toward the cab, and the gear should be mid stroke or close to.

Everything has been powder coated or painted red white or blue as I rebuild it from the ground up.

Thank You, my problem is I have no steering wheel on it. It is all just frame and suspension right now and it’s a new steering box so was I wasn’t sure what to do.

Right now there is nothing connected to the steering box so is it fairly easy for me to rotate to find center without destroying anything in the steering box?

Yes.

There is a reason you I need the box to be al true center....there is a valve that closes when it's at center and contributes to stability if I understood Mr Blaine correctly.

as far as the steering column and wheel I would temporarily put a wheel on it and keep that thing in the correct position.
