Hey all, I'm really itching to do Highline fenders, I'm currently thinking poison spyder xc, are there any others specifically around that price range or cheaper that I should consider? My budget is no more than $800. Also has to be at least 3in flare because it's my daily and I'm already pushing tire coverage as is. Picture Is how my Jeep currently sits.

You can do PS with some type of inner fender replacement for $800? Most highline options I’m aware of come out bit over that budget. My plan is Nemesis which is $1,000 for highline kit and another $350 for flares. When I was comparing this priced out similar to TnT (only steel I believe) and GenRight.

1st question might be, steel or aluminum?

genright , motobilt, nemesis, poison spyder, jcr, crawltech, tnt, ucf and a few others.

it's not as straight forward as just bolting on new fenders. but you know this you read up on it some ya?

you gotta cut your hood. you need new inner fenders if they don't come with (or you have to cut your OE's off and mate those) and a strong possibilty of you also needing new fender mounting brackets (or altering the OE's to work). the battery has to come up. the fuse box has to be moved and the air cleaner has to be changed to something smaller (Ford bottle is popular). if you have A/C you may have to manipulate the lines that run around along passenger fender. it would cause need to replace the huge windshield washer jug to something smaller as well (Summit 16$).

so in your cost comparisons figure in the fire wall brackets and inner fenders if you don't wanna cut and play with what's there now, some kits have all the parts and some sell them all separate. but it all needs to be considered if you have a spending limit.

my 1st go at a HL, i cut up the OE fenders got some GR inners and cut the fire wall brackets back to work. lots of ways to go about it. just depends how motivated you are to do it and the budget you have.

i'm not tryin to discourage you from this just be prepared for what your getting into.

zip about an inch of the bottom edge of OE flares and it'll give a more open appearance.
unless your wheel is getting into the fender you don't have to move it. you can change the look by loosing those big flares that you already decided are gone since they won't fit a HL package.

You could always go Metal Cloak, they'll allow you to stuff more tire, right?

Seriously though, you're going to get "this or that" type responses to your question. Me? I like the stock look so I'd say source some OEM or OEM Rubicon flares and you're done. As stated above, there's quite a bit of work involved with "highlining" your fenders. Definitely not a bolt-on project. At the end of the day it's your Jeep so I just recommend doing alot of research on here (Research = not creating new threads to what's already here), checking out some photos and watching videos of the work involved.

Ditching those BushCracker pocket flares and the big t-case drop will give you some extra clearance and save money.
I am well aware, the Skycracker lift was on it when I bought it, and the the flares were a Christmas gift. Slip yoke eliminator is on my to do list I’m just doing one expensive thing at a time so I wanna get rid of the crappy flares.

I guess I should clarify, I priced out the ps inner and fender for 800 so I would only have to cut the hood, not hood and fenders.

What are the highlines going to do for you that you don't already have?
Honestly I like the look of them, I was planning on doing normal tube fenders but then I realized the cost was the same as the Highline from ps, I’d rather spend 800 now then regret a couple years from now and have to pay it again.

I have, no matter which Highline I get I’m also getting the inner, so that way in theory the only thing I’ll have to do is chop the hood and rearrange the engine bay a bit.

Honestly I have gone through a lot of threads already and just wanted to see if I was missing anything, also metalcloaks are a waste of money with good marketing, I know there’s a lot of work involved in something like this I just don’t wanna buy the normal ps defenders and then regret not going Highline in a couple of years and I really like the look of them.

Metalcloak is only a waste of money if you are looking for functional increase in tire clearance. Beyond that, some people like ugly fenders and that's okay.

I was just saying In the form of it being a no cut Highline fender. I thought they were cool a while ago until I did research on them lol.

When someone writes "seriously though" that means anything before it was kind of a joke (my MC comment). Jeeps are fun to upgrade, I think the point all of us are trying to make is to just make sure you are ok with cutting up your Jeep because it's hard to go back.

Gotcha, thanks for making sure I knew what I was getting into, I know someone with a hood laying around that I was planning on buying so that I can have a backup just in case something goes majorly bad, I also was doing inner fenders so it will be a bolt on for the fender side of things. Sorry for starting an extra thread for it I just was looking for advice from people who have been in the Jeep community a lot longer than me and If I’m going to spend this much money on my jeep I want to make sure I’m getting the most out of it with the money I’m putting into it.

I just recently installed PS highlines. I would have preferred aluminum, but they no longer make them so I went with the steel.

It was more time consuming then I thought it would be. Cut hood, new blinkers, relocate fuse box, horn, wiper fluid. I test fit everything, then disassembled and painted everything.

I did buy a windstar air box, but I was able to still use the factory air box, so I kept that.
