I haven't run John Bull since the fire last year, from what I've heard it was mostly the gatekeeper that got affected?

I actually didn't notice it at the Gatekeeper. I noticed mostly at the top of the hill after the 'main' obstacle with the extra credit on the middle line. Mostly because we had someone break something and were stuck at the top for about 2+ hours waiting for them to monkey with it (leaking transmission fluid line). I noticed it mostly because with all the trees burnt, there's no shade whatsoever anymore. So the weather said it was around 79 degrees. Felt like it was 90's up there.

Definitely sad to see since it's normally really nice scenery up there.

One time years ago, we were up at the top area and saw a fire starting on a hill in the distance. Someone was able to call it in on a ham radio. I was impressed that we saw a helicopter up there in around 5 min that time.

Sad that Jacoby Cyn is still closed from the fire a few years ago (near the end of Gold mtn). That used to be a nice chill/scenery trail if you didn't have time to run anything else.
