Savvy shipping charges

I was ready to pull the trigger on a full underarmor kit...then the shipping quote was over 250 dollars! I can ship LTL for much less than that. So, I sent an email and tried the facebook page asking specifically for a better quote. I know the calculators can get funny. Nothing, literally no response. Not even to say, "sorry, shipping is what it is." So, I moved on. Their stuff is nice, but I'm not playing that game.

Maybe I should have called too, but for crying out loud, why is it so hard to spend my money with them? There are easier ways to spend money with other companies.

Mike, not sure why shipping was that much for you. Here is my invoice and you and I are relatively same distance from Cali.

I don't know. I had the oil pan skid, T-case skid and the body lift pucks. I believe they use a percentage of sales price for their shipping and handling. The more you order, the higher the quote.

Even 99 bucks is a bit high, IMHO. I am having a skid shipped to me from Connecticut with a lawn mower deck and bagger system on it for 131 dollars. That is a full, 48 x 45 skid that can't have anything stacked on top of it. It weighs 200 pounds.

When I did my tuck UCF being closer got the nod on shipping costs.
Savvys lack of communication led me to JKS on the 3" springs. Again 2 day drop ship from Michigan.
Seems like crossing the Seirras and the Rockies just ratchets up the shipping.
(I'm not anti-savvy! I've got a savvy transfer case shifter and 1.25" body lift )
 
Also interested in this. I need an engine skid and rear bumper. Shipping is $90. I thought aluminum was supposed to be lightweight! lol
 
Not defending anyone but shipping has gotten stupid in the last few months. We had to go through and change all of our brake kit packaging to figure out if we could get it in 3 boxes for less than shipping 2 boxes. We spent a few days doing that because UPS added a very high surcharge for any package 50 lbs and over.

Much bigger pain in the ass than I wanted it to be but it worked out in our customer's favor to do it because the 3rd box even with extra time spent packing it and the extra packaging costs is enough less to do it but it certainly sucked redoing every part of packing those kits.

Weight isn't the only aspect. If it was, you could ship empty boxes for very cheap of the same size and that ain't gonna happen.
 
what it seems to me is that if you order multiple items, they add it up as if each is being shipped separately.

A few weeks ago I was ordering a pair of front upper control arms, and I wanted to get a pair of threaded Johnny joints to retrofit onto my rough country lower arms to replace their garbage flex joints. It added something stupid like $25-30 just to throw two JJ's into the box with the arms. So I just ordered the UCA's from Savvy and went and ordered the JJ's on Amazon instead.

Thats pretty much what they said last night.

She kept saying it was a "back end" problem with the website and UPS. She blamed UPS several times. Just got a shipping notice from Fedex. Either she has no idea who ships their shit or they did try to find lower shipping for me.

The shipping companies have been slammed the past few months, busier than Christmas. Even my rates have increased to what you non-essentials pay at the store. I have seen the biggest increase from UPS, Fedex has remained in-line with what they typically charge. Amazon strike (threat of strike) did not help either, they pushed a lot of their load on UPS which is already overloaded.
 
I've had Savvy ship with UPS, Fedex and USPS in the past, so it seems like they search for the best option and use it. Sounds like it may not be UPS for a while given @S.McArthur 's experience above.

dang it. I ordered the tummy tuck in Mar. the quote was nearly $300 for shipping. Michael called and told me he was shipping it for nearly $100 less then the quote

FedEx has been holding the line for awhile but they finally stepped over it, well, not really stepped, they took a running start and jumped so far that it is mind bogglingly terrible.

I order a constant stream of TJ Unit Bearings. Typically about 20 per month. Shipping has historically been 25-30 bucks for 20 of them and since I pay attention to the delivered unit price, I'm pretty aware of the costs. Order last night went up to 125 bucks for the same number of parts. That is not an inconsiderable increase.
